Why do i feel like Team bundle and capsule are there just to offset the loss riot incurred just by organizing valorant esports πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Isn’t that like obvious?

I asked this because if it's true then Riot most likely calculated everything meaning there's no more room for more teams and regions lol

I mean yeah? Which is why they shortened the number of teams in franchising from like 14 to 12 no? and why they will not add a 4th international LAN? Meanwhile CS can afford to have 30+ t1 events in one year so I guess Open circuit is better

It's not as if open circuit is better than Closed circuit.

Riot as a company earns money through skins. While Valve earns their money through Steam, while it's true that CS also sells cosmetics, it cannot compare to revenue earn outside CS.

Riot probably thinks that they're better off without open circuit and they are probably correct. What's the point in 30+ tournaments when Riot probably earns less than what they're earning rn .No, Valve games are not a good example because both Riot and Valve have different priorities. Valve can handle losses from managing esports, they're never that reliant on skins purchase and it's a good publicity anyways i.e they will not die in case CS actually died. Meanwhile riot lives and dies through their games.

valve literally has 0 impact on events like esl, blast, pgl. Valve are only related to two events, the 2 majors. Valve's impact is just Valve Ranking System and the majors, That is it. And they easily get back what they lose on the majors via stickers.

My point still stands, Valve will give as much shit as Riot did about franchising if out of a sudden Valve's only means of survival is through those stickers.

oh yeah, of course. I feel like if valve wanted, CS could have double the prize pool of what TI had, easily

Its no secret that esports isn't very profitable. Also some of the team capsules profits are also given to the organizations to help fund their rosters.

Franchising is ride or die, you either keep it or your entire scene is fucked. The reason why it was easy for cs to jump from franchising to open circuit is because it had several circuits, the main one being the major which remained fully open (unlike esl and blast)

I mean cs ecosystem is somewhat profitable, stickers allow orgs to exist, + bookies give finances for orgs to exist before that. Now almost every TO offers special programs for teams who choose their events so that they get a couple of millions just for attending
Like just this year all prize pool money combined reaches numbers north of 25 million dollars

Honestly it should be like the valve system. Open circuit and two riot organized "Majors" a year and making the bundles for the team in attendance

CS has a scene which was built up for 20 years, by far the biggest tier 2-3 scene out of any other esport, CS probably has the best structure for growth imo

yeah and? valorant 2021-2022 had a lot of investment and influx of orgs. Also a lot of rosters appeared out of nowhere to play too. far better system than what we have today

because every org knew that riot would sooner or later apply a franchising system and the more they spend the higher likelihood they had of getting into the league

Bro you're like 2 years late to this joke.
Also, you're wrong. Franchising is better than whatever C's based its system on.

It's not about who's better and who's worse. It's about what suits Riot and Valve because as a company both are completely different .
