on ascent yes idk abt icebox. on ascent his missiles alone clear wine, heaven, generator, dice, logs, pizza, parts of boat house, stairs, and ANY off rip awp angles.

i imagine it will either be used to clear yellow or the elevated part that connects to hall. or to deny plant on the defensive side. he is actually quite viable on both icebox and ascent.

ascent has plenty of little cubbies as well as strong bunker positions like backsite b that mollies can clear so i think tejo is definitely meta
icebox macro has historically been very focused on plant denial and after plants so i think tejo will be very good for stuff like breaking kj mollies, preventing plant, and after plants

actually, now that i think about it, tejo should be strong for icebox defaults as well
usually on a b default kayo knifes yellow and sova drone close to push any defenders into the site
tejo can drone close and then use missiles at yellow to achieve the same effect
at A you can also drone the awkward headshot angles from pipes
the ult also seems pretty good too because since both bombsites are tejo ult shaped rectangles
the only thing stopping tejo is comp difficulties i think
sova is just so strong specifically on this map that i dont know if it would be worth it to replace sova with tejo
i think whats more likely is replacing the flash initiator and then playing yoru to get flashes in the comp
yoru - tejo - sova - viper - kj seems like a pretty strong comp

Ascent seems clear yes, but hot take I think he can be viable on icebox aswell

For defense, his rockets can be great for plant stall which the meta has been based on for a while, I think it’s a great pick.
For attack, it’s a bit less good but so think he can be pretty viable. His rockets can clear yellow easily (unless they change it) and his drone can clear an op. I’d be worried about A site attack with him, but that’s about it

where would you have the drone go on A if i can ask? if he's replacing sova he'd def have to be used to clear the first half instead of the dart, but imo he'd be better replacing the flash init (ie: kayo gekko) and then clear maze & site & upper. this also made me realize his drone would be pretty good because of the suppress, because it'd be great at supporting a mid-lurk by taking down kj util or stopping a viper from putting up her wall/orb or or to just supress anyone putting a molly default to stop plant. If you run sova + tejo though, you don't get any agent good for getting bomb down (ie: gekko sage harbor) which is the big flaw in the tejo pick imo (unless ofc you pull a G2 and run no duelist, which honestly could be a possibility)

why wouldnt you play harbor tho? And yes I was thinking of replacing Kay/o in the first place, but Icebox allows you try a lot of things comps wise so idk

Assuming that you have Sova + Tejo, and fill the "mandatory picks" of KJ + Viper, all your left with is the duelist spot. I was saying you could fill that spot with harbor instead (in the G2 comps) but then you have ypur duelist player off role + less operator potential

It depends on your duelist player honestly, G2 were very good at it bc Icy is very flexible and doesn't rely on the OP in any way. Jawg did also play sage on EG on icebox last year so IG they should run it back. Also you don't necessarily have to OP on duelist , but a team like 100th would never play that instead of a Jett based comp

My prediction is that he will be meta on ascent. He will be picked a bit on icebox, but it won't be a staple in many comps.
