I would say that in 2023 Fnatic was by far the best team ahead of everyone not just EMEA.
At LOCK//IN Navi finished 3rd/4th (Lost to FNC)
At Masters Team Liquid was still 5th/6th.
And at Champions FUT was 7th/8th (Lost to FNC)

And in 2024 Team Heretics was really only established as the best in EMEA in the 2nd half of the season.
At Madrid Karmine Corp was the No.1 seed and was close against Sentinels, the winner of the tournament
At Shanghai Fnatic finished 7th/8th and only lost to the winner Geng and to FUT
At Shanghai FUT finished 5th/6th
And at Champions Fnatic finished 5th/6th

While in both years there was a clear best team from the region, the other teams were still playing pretty close to the top level at least placement wise.

This is just completely false lmao

NAVI in 23 was so ass lmao, sure they scored high in lock//in but then they got grouped in the remaining two events.
TL literally got a free pass into playoffs then they went 1-2.
FUT was not even a top 10 team at champs and only got into playoffs through beating the pacific third seed twice.

None of these teams were close to FNC or even a top 10 team in the world.

5th-6th place is no where close to the "top level at least placement wise" to 1st and 2nd.

KC got eliminated in the swiss stage of madrid (not a really good showing from the #1 seed of EMEA) and then never showed up to an event ever again.
Once again FNC got a free pass to playoffs at Shanghai then bombed out 0-2 and getting 5th-6th at champs is a pretty good showing but no anywhere close to a top 5 team or close to TH.
FUT finishing 5th-6th is not impressive from almost losing to DRG and a broken LEV is not the same level of TH.

Once again none of these teams were even close to TH in 2024.

5th-6th is not "pretty close to the top level at least placement wise" compared to 1st and 2nd.

Saying 5th-6th is nowhere close to 1st or 2nd is a very crazy statement like if those are going to be "nowhere close" ranks then it should always be obvious who wins an event since other than 2 teams the others will be seen as "nowhere close"

And why is it that when an EMEA team beats and even stomps a team at an international, its "broken [team]" or "[team] fluked this win" but when any other team beats an EMEA team its "Memea"? Like if you think that DRG FUT game was a close one and if you think Fut almost lost to Drg, then you should be saying the same thing for the G2 VIT game since the first map H2 came back from 8-12 to make it 15-13 and we dont know who coulvde won the third map if that happened therefore G2 almost lost to VIT right?

if you know FNC the fact is they never lost a BO5 since 2021 Rekjavik final against SEN. even then all 3 maps were 2 rounds differential so they were not dominated fully. other B05 lost is aganist Team Liquid in VCT 2023(and lets be honest do I need to explain that the final was not even taken serious. it didn't even matter cause they had won Lock/IN and after won TOKYO Master in real domination fashion 4 out 5 top Tokyo Players were from FNC ) LOUD somehow beat them twice but if i assure you that EG would have lost to FNC. even PRX would have lost

Let's see what would've happened, FNC bans Pearl and EG bans Haven, The remaining maps Ascent (EG was the best itw on), Fracture (EG was the best itw on), Bind (FNC got 13-1ed previously by DRX on it), Lotus (last time FNC played they got 13-6ed and EG beat LOUD 13-4 on that map), and Split (50-50 but more in EG's favor).
