VCT GLOBAL RANKINGS - PROJECT LAUNCH (MARCH 2025)

Hello everyone, I would like to present my personal VCT Global Rankings project that I've already presented as a beta last year, which I based on an objective scoring system for match series wins, map differences, placement in each tournament, as well as elo points from 2024 as a scheme for 2025.

The system is of course not perfect, but it is really close to it and I plan to improve it. I came up with the idea to make this because there is currently no well-represented authoritative ranking system for VCT. I plan to update it every month or after every tournament. will always be posted here on VLR, Twitter and Reddit (r/ValorantCompetitive).

Are you using all of 2024 for this elo system, is there a time decay system implemented? Also are teams penalized/reset for undergoing big roster changes? I know another user on the site had an elo system they were using for calculating odds for teams. Cool project though, I think it will be interesting to compare this to community sentiment on teams.

In this particular situation G2 dominated the Masters more, with more 2-0 wins than T1 which gave them more points in my system. G2 won Kickoff too, while T1 lost in the finals, there's the little point difference too. You gotta count everything, since this is an all season rankings.

I like the LEV placement, the rest of vlr is underrating them ngl.

how are we supposed to rate a team that has only beaten furia and has 4 players?

People were underrating their level of play at kickoff. They were very close to beating mibr and both teams played well in that series.

base elo start is 1000, for the most of chinese teams is 900 since the skill diff rn is kinda too big now. elo start can be higher bcs it depends on their 2024 perforance ofc, leviatan is placed high bcs they performed well last year, especially seoul.
