. Unfortunately, history was fated to repeat itself, as the nzr and aspas duo has once again not panned out.
With their new revamped team, MIBR reached its highest placement in their short history in the Americas league. Following two years of toiling in the bottom echelon of the league, they made an improbable lower bracket run to place third at Kickoff, only one match away from qualifying to Masters Bangkok. Though their run was an overall success, it started with a blowout loss in their opening match. After the loss, nzr was moved off of IGL duties, and artzin took the reins of the team for the remainder of the tournament.
nzr shared a statement in reaction to his benching, expressing gratitude to his team as he explores options for his future.
MIBR will need to find a replacement for their former initiator before Stage 1 of Americas, starting on March 21.
