I see Sage picked way too much. It's definitely a lower-elo favourite since she has heals and a revive. Literally the best pocket support... except a lot of these low-elo players only use these util for their duo/trio or do not know how to use it at all somehow.

Unfortunately this is just the ranked experience. People wanna play agents that enable them to take fights and have some sort of get out of jail card (for Clove, it's the heal and the revive ult). Plus, agents like Astra, Viper and Omen require a bit more coordination. Astra especially since she has a high skill ceiling and is more able to play far positions. This makes Astra harder to play in ranked though because not many players are gonna maximise the coordination. It's why Breach and KAYO are difficult initiators to play in ranked.

True, but less people appreciate Omen since the TP is shorter-ranged. Tenz definitely boosted Omen play, but I'd say Omen is still less desirable since you often need audio distractions to make the best use of that TP in aggro plays.

heavy fighting agents are the meta
in radiant the most played comp right now is jett/clove/raze/cypher/tejo
all of those excel at fighting in their own way rather than being more supportive

but shes so bad on abyss or solo controller pearl and she always gets played there anyway

I mean everything is fine except the smokes lasting 2 seconds. On top of that, add the fact that most players cant coordinate util and smokes with site executions in general. If you take too long to hit a site, good luck if your smoke agent is clove. If you really want an easy smoker that can speed himself up and that has much better stalling power, just pick brim. Compared to the ability of smoking after death, brim's smokes are very long lasting which is more important in ranked in my opinion. All of this, of course, considering that you're picking clove because its a controller that is "simple to play". Just pick any other controller otherwise i guess

Omen is legit just better clove

his smokes last longer
his flash is wayyy better that whatever tf cloves stun is supposed to be
his tp is so much better for being aggro than cloves heal

only bad thing is maybe the ult but even then it has its uses
