i swear every power ranking video i see has nongshim top 5- top 3 peak, and i cant tell if its some mass joke or they actually are, didnt they get taken to a OT map 5 to possibly the worst team in pacific? ik ascension teams can be good and i understand they barely dropped maps but surely they cant be top 5

Pretty smart strat, so they can save strats and teams cant save what strats they used when they play each other

Top coaches mentioned how they are very good in scrims, and their run in challengers and ascension if you don’t count the 2 grand finals, was complete dominance as well.
Lots of ppl think BLEED would’ve been a (lower)middle of the pack team if they kept the original roster so ppl rating NS that high is understandable

i understand the dominance in t2 but it's just t2 right? like im looking at it but I dont see it. im not seeing the nongshim vision

is it not a fair assumption to make?

saying a team than wrecked some of the best teams in the world in scrims is top 5 in their region, which would put them ahead of talon and RRQ, DFM, is a fair take imo.

It’s not fair imp because scrims aren’t a direct measure of how good a team is fkr examplr last year the stage 2 nrg team cooked in scrims but went 1-3, bleed last year cooked in scrims but went 1-9

we can judge them on scrims and assume they are good , on what factor are u assumin that they aint good

The fact they almost threw a bo5 against the projected WORST pacific team, if they can barely beat them and it comes within 2 rounds that are very close themselves (they had to come back brim a 5 round deficit btw) then how are we calling them top 5 almost better than 2 champs team last year

the problem was that they also dominated champs teams when they were scrimming against them last year. The team hasn't lost a single match since Margaret and Persia joined in.

T2 exists when you artificially create the rift between T1 and T2. The Challengers (2021-2022) Era of Valorant proved that when everything is equalled, everyone can beat everyone. Players in T2 can be as amazing as players in T1 if given the chance. It's just a matter of investment.

Like the original comments mentioned, when Champions was in Seoul, even Neilzinho spoke about how solid Nongshim (then SPG) was in scrims. Does that say much? It depends. But when you are that dominant even in the circuit and (unlike BLEED) maintained all 5 members + a young prospect? The sky is the limit for them.

Can they be very bad? Sure, maybe against the more experienced teams. But against the mid-lower teams, they can absolutely perform against them.

i can belive a mid pack team because we have already seen that out of drg, g8 and g2(g2 being even better) but with g2 they were pretty much a t1 team, and i understand scrims to determine atleast some skill, but i still think we need to see them play atleast 1 vct team before i see people in power rankings like plat chat calling them top 5

I dunno what to tell you, they're that good, and compared to the rest of the Pacific teams, it's more or less believable.

(Also it's not as egregious as you think considering Talon is a literal coinflip and the only team I would swap is DRX for them.)

what were the players doing last year when DK made it to ascension over them? is there really that much of a surplus of talent in korea still that the mainstream viewers dont know about? or is it like a GENG situation where now its the right players on the right team together at the right time?

The team has arguably one of the best firepowers in VCT Pacific, and the way they play is like PRX from 2023 where the aggression is controlled and the set plays are excellent and well-executed. They've also won multiple scrims against top tier 1 teams in the world.

BME taking them to a map 5 and keeping it hella close was either the crowd buff or the BME players having the game of their life. I'm not saying NS are gonna be the best team in the world, but they are a team to be feared at the least.

P.S. Boom Esports are considered the worst in Pacific purely cuz the teams ranked above them have proven their worth in off season tournaments or have made significant roster moves increasing their firepower. Objectively they're not that bad of a team.

Yeah they are. Judging from the thread you don't trust anything anybody says despite asking a question and wanting an answer.

So just watch Pacific in the upcoming weeks and you'll see just how they play.

I see answers that have nothing to do with scrims. You just have your own truth and you're sticking to it no matter what.
You're not open minded at all.

Everyone I see has mentioned their scrims against fnatic and heretics just because you don’t doesn’t mean it’s not an argument being put out their, your not open minded for not seeing other people opinions and arguements acting like others don’t exist towards spg

Rate them off their ascension finals (which they barely won)

do you think ns and boom are on the same tier then? yeah the finals was close but if you've watched the whole tournament, it's not a stretch to place boom a tier or two below them. now i don't think boom should be placed 12th but i wouldn't place them next to ns either

no i dont think they are on the same tier, spg are top 9-6 and boom are 9-11th

they will be in top 5 orr 6 in pacific orr may be in top 3 . Because apart from T1, GENG,PRX all other team have not that firepower which can surppress Nongshim. I think with season progress they will become more confident and eventually can qualify for champs. They are PRX version of w gaming with cracked aim , set roles and an igl .
Those who says they closely won that acensions finals , yeah its true but they didnt played their best game and boom played their best game of whole year .
