So I just watched this clip of him from another game. My God, why is he so toxic over a game? Not everyone is here to become a pro. People have lives outside of online gaming and can come here to just have fun.

Maybe his downfall and biggest project 'Spectre Divide' failing, is affecting his mental health.

He has such a big ego and superiority complex that he feels very entitled to talk about people who have lives outside of online gaming and not dedicate half their life playing online games.

No I completely understand what Shroud is saying.

He’s talking about my Valorant teammates that do nothing but yap and talk about how much money they have. Basically they do everything except try to win the game. These are the games I have to mute all comms.

Then they say, “ItS jUsT a gAMe”. Bitch I’m trying to win the game.

But honestly I fw Shroud on this one

If you pay attention to the clip the guy was not trolling he was just having a bad game. If someone trolls and throws a game purposely I may too react the same. But saying, ' Being a decent human being, a valued member of society, how do you get by in life being bad at games'. I mean seriously? Like by being a pro he has brought a change to the world and it is a better place. Like hell, his attitude and toxicness are making it worse for people who want to have fun and enjoy.

It's not really surprising to me tbh. He's a privileged kid who really hasn't had to tryhard anything in his life. He's made a living off of having good aim and being boring.

Wouldn't expect him to have much empathy or life experiences, he's really never left his bubble

Seriously. Also, not to forget bitching and criticising every last game he left. He has talked shit about CS, Valo, Overwatch etc. His own game 'Spectre Divide' is a flop copy of Valo.

Yeah tbh exactly, spectre divide is just like a cheap copy of valo but in CS style lol , idk what blud really thought when he made this game like I haven't played it personally and it doesn't look shit but matter of fact is do u really think people will drop CS or Valorant or the COD series games to play this?? Hell no

never really got the shroud hype. bro dropped a whopping 0.89 rating in cs majors, then quit to kill streamsnipers in pubg for four years, played like 2 matches of valorant. he seems a bit boring and his mechanics aren't anything that crazy so i have no clue how he holds 10k average viewers

You're just idolizing a person with no formal education and who has been perpetually been on the internet since 2010 or before. You think he has good takes because he's a pro who had a really bad career with one major win. The same thing with XQC. But whatever, your tastes are your tastes, they're just not tied to logic.

I feel I need to add a middle-ground here, Yes it is okay to play games for fun and yes it's okay to play games competitively, the disconnect here is that shroud is playing a fairly competitive game imo and he wonders how people enjoy hyper competitive games while playing badly putting it bluntly and just putting it across in a horrific way, I get that too because of valorant comp and etc.

The important thing to remember is that while it's "okay" to enjoy or take a game seriously, Valorant isn't made to be a fun casual game, Swift play or spike rush is meanwhile games like Stardew valley and Detroit become human are games which u should relax and have fun in while u can enjoy or take either seriously, they are made for one purpose or the other.

All in all, Games are what u make them but if u are having fun like sinaatra who never particularly cares when they play ranked, etc your a rare breed and you'll have to understand that not everyone is like you and you'll get criticism, same in the opposite.

#35
_Echo_

Disagree here. Valorant is not meant to be played only competitively. 80% to 90% of the player base must be playing it casually. If you want to be so competitive and look down on others who are not as good as you (tbh Shroud has thousands of hours on every game so no wonder he is good) you can rank queue with a party and not a solo queue.

Also, if your teammates are trolling or are on a boosted account I can understand the frustration. But, if you watch the whole clip that guy literally carried the team and won. Maybe, he just made a dumb mistake, everybody makes mistakes that is how we learn. Instead of giving a piece of advice calling someone a loser, having no dignity, dumpster etc and questioning their lifestyle is just disgraceful.

Half of the things he is saying do not even make sense. He is telling him to go play another game and become better. How will he become better at this game if he does not play? If he is not good enough now does not mean he will remain bad his entire life. Also, saying that he is trying to gatekeep multiplayer games so that he wants only players who are valued members of the gaming community?! I mean really?

Honestly, I didn’t even watch the clip fully, and I don’t care what Shroud said in the first place. My comment wasn’t about that. If Valorant were made purely for fun, people wouldn’t try to climb the ranks and improve in every match. They would just play Swift Play mode every time, log off, and go outside, repeating the same cycle each day.

There’s a big difference between having fun while taking a game seriously and just playing for fun. Personally, I don't play Valorant to escape a long day. In fact, people who do that might need to re-evaluate their priorities. Generally speaking, if you don't take games like Valorant seriously, you’re likely to perform poorly, unless you’re extremely talented.

You mentioned, "He is telling him to go play another game and become better. How will he become better at this game if he does not play?" From what I observed, the game Shroud was playing relied heavily on game sense. If you're entering a high-skill game without that awareness, it can seem like the player being criticized is out of their depth. If your aim was to promote understanding, why focus solely on Shroud’s negative actions instead of considering that "he said this, maybe he meant it in this way"?

If you’re supposedly better than Shroud, how can you claim in comment #23 that "he has such a big ego and superiority complex that he feels entitled to criticize people who have lives outside of gaming"? If what Shroud did was so immoral, why are you making similar assumptions and negative comments about him?

In #24, you stated, "lol..funny.. But hey, at least FNS has achieved something in Valorant. He didn’t just run away after failing, unlike Shroud." This is mocking him and reflects the very behavior you criticized Shroud for. If you believe his actions were so terrible, why are you doing exactly the same thing?

In #19, you wrote, "Seriously. Also, not to forget complaining and criticizing every game he left. He has insulted CS, Valorant, Overwatch, etc. His own game, 'Spectre Divide,' is a flop copy of Valorant." It seems hypocritical to criticize someone for pointing out areas for improvement in games. I can’t speak to the specifics, but if you provide some context, it might look like Tenz saying, "Honestly, this agent feels broken," or "this feature feels off." The role of prominent content creators and professionals is to help improve the game, not just sit idly hoping for fixes. Also, regarding your comments about Spectre Divide, Shroud isn’t even the creator—he’s just the Lead Gameplay Advisor. If you looked into it, you’d find that he initially only planned to be an angel investor, but they sought his input because he’s a top-tier FPS pro, which makes sense for any game development company.

In summary, if you’re going to make points like this, it’s fine to reference what Shroud said, but many of your comments come off as presumptive and misinformed, likely based on your own experiences or feelings about the situation. You don’t know Shroud personally, and the accusations you’ve made can’t be verified. They seem more focused on tearing down rather than providing constructive criticism. If you think you're superior, why are you behaving similarly to him?

So even without watching the whole clip and being misinformed yourself, you are taking on his behalf? Also, you missed the whole point. It was about him shitting on others he thinks are not good enough. If you disagree with someone that does not mean you need to be better than them to have your opinion. You don't need to be a yes man and worship these online personalities.

Your point that Valorant is not purely for fun: If that were the case, the Valorant community would not be begging for new modes in the game. Ranked, Unrated, Swift Play etc are for fun. That is the whole reason why there is a different premier mode. If you want to be so competitive and shit on others who you think are not good enough play that. Don't spoil other's fun playing ranked and getting tilted.

You may be one of the few who does not like to have fun while playing. The majority of the player base plays it for fun and not to be shitted on online. If someone does not want to get serious like you do, you can't force them to. No matter what your opinion is. If they think having fun is more important then let them be. Not all are equally gifted. If you are playing seriously and putting hundreds of hours into a game and getting better that does not mean it applies to others as well. Maybe if they are playing with all seriousness they are playing worse than what they would while having fun. Also, that guy is in the lobby with Shroud which means he is on the same level as Shroud or maybe even better.

The reason to criticize Shroud was because of his toxicness. I don't need to be a pro to call out someone for being so toxic over a game. If the other guy were to be trolling even his teammates would be supporting Shroud. But you can clearly see one of the guys supporting his teammate and not being a yes-man to Shroud. If Shroud were so good at the game he could point out the mistake and tell him what he could do better in that situation. And not talk about someone's personal life outside online gaming. If the guy is not listening and you are losing it would be another case.

I always held him in high regard because of his mechanical skills. But that does not mean I will agree to whatever he says. Criticizing a game like Tenz does is okay. Tenz gives his input on what could be better and what not. Shroud has always talked shit. He tries to be relevant by talking good about the game he is playing currently and talking shit about other games. If he had all the know-how, how did Spectry divide fail so miserably?

Just to end this, I don't have anything against him. I hate it when people are so toxic online. You can have your opinions but it is not cool to attack someone's personal life. You never know what someone is going through. Another point, don't be a yes man to online personalities. In the video, one of the guys was just agreeing to whatever shit Shroud was talking. At least one other guy was mature enough to call him out and support his teammate. People can have bad days but that does not mean you should take it out on others and ruin their fun too. Peace.

"If you disagree with someone, it doesn’t mean you need to be better than them to have your opinion. That’s fine. The problem arises when you express an opinion about how someone is acting, and then you begin to act in a similar, if not the same, way; that’s when you become hypocritical.

Regarding your point about Valorant being purely for fun: If that were the case, the Valorant community would be asking for new modes in the game. However, I would love to see any proof to support that claim, because since the release of Swiftplay, it seems that not many people care about new modes, to be honest.

"If you want to be so competitive and shit on others who you think are not good enough play that. Don't spoil other's fun playing ranked and getting tilted." Your assumptions are unfounded—what evidence do you have to support that I am ever toxic and/or spoil anyone else's fun?

"You may be one of the few players who doesn’t prioritize having fun while playing. The majority of the player base plays for enjoyment, not to be criticized online. If someone doesn’t want to take the game seriously like you do, you can’t force them to. Everyone is not equally skilled. Just because you’re investing hundreds of hours into the game and improving doesn’t mean it applies to everyone else. Perhaps when others play seriously, they perform worse than they would if they were just having fun. Also, the fact that someone is in the lobby with Shroud doesn’t automatically mean they are at his level or better."

This entire argument reflects what I stated in my original point: "Games are what you make of them. If you are having fun like sinatraa, who doesn’t particularly care when playing ranked, you are a rare breed. You must understand that not everyone is like you and that you will face criticism, just as those who are overly serious will face differing opinions." This is you switching your entire argument purely to hurt mine rather than just sticking to yours and using a good point/Evidence to support what u said originally and it seriously didn't work.

"The reason to criticize Shroud was because of his toxicness."
You seem to misinterpret my points entirely. You stated, "The reason to criticize Shroud was because of his toxic behaviour," yet you respond to others criticizing Shroud with your own toxic comments, adding to the negativity.

"Shroud has always talked trash. He tries to stay relevant by praising the game he’s playing and bashing other games. If he really knew what he was doing, how did his venture with Spectry fail so miserably?" Again, you’re just providing more ammunition for my initial point of being toxic in response to toxicity.

"I hate it when people are toxic online. You can have your opinions, but it’s not cool to attack someone's personal life." Yet you said yourself that "he has such a big ego and superiority complex that he feels entitled to criticize people who have lives outside of gaming." You don’t know if he has a big ego or a superiority complex; you’re attacking someone personally. This lack of self-awareness is troubling. It’s hypocritical to criticize someone else while displaying the same toxic behavior you condemn.

I asked for evidence to support your claims, and you provided none. You used the replies to add no extra value, merely insulting both me and Shroud based on your unfounded assumptions. You also used this entire discussion to rally others to agree with you, which renders you the real 'yes-man' in this situation. You have not countered my actual points, nor have you attempted to understand my perspective.

Your attempt at character assassination is tragic. You have shown that you know nothing about me and failed to engage with my arguments. I truly hope you can learn from this experience and become a better person in the future. Have a good day or night, sir or ma'am."

I didnt watch the stream neither did most of you guys and the clip isnt continuous it is obviously cut and stiched together.
We dont even know the context on what shroud is talking about maybe he wasnt even talking about the poster

But still i think he was def facing something tough and it is unreasonable for him to say allat and even crash out on a random enemy player.

hes right lol. it is genuinely embarrassing to be perpetually shit at the things you continually invest in. its representative of larger issues; most importantly an underlying inability to learn, and is a burden the rest of us have to deal with end of the day. its why you have full-grown morons driving on the road, coworkers who don't get their work done properly and now its your problem, etc.

having been a shroud viewer in cs and in the pubg days, this was extremely surprising, like i genuinly didnt know he had this in him tbh.

is there more context to this? From previous replies u do come off as a bit of a hater.

nevertheless as a previous viewer of his(havent been since mid 2018), i have to say this is very dissapointing no matter the context.
As he is at an age where i believe u should know that even if u have these opinions, that they are at the very least controversial.
