Many NA Val players have either quit the game or moved onto Marvel Rivals. In NA, Val killed CSGO, and now after 5 years, the player base is moving onto other games.
Frankly, even though the game is more "balanced", the influx of new agents with ridiculous abilities (Iso shield, Neon shotgun, Tejo lol) is making me very bored of the game.
The Jett meta was still the most fun meta even though it was repetitive and OP
wait, so if they win Challengers, then they still don't ascend? aren't they taking away a spot from another Challengers team that can ascend?
why does SEN have an academy team in Challengers but not any other VCT team?
There are many Val streamers and players playing Marvel Rivals now
It makes sense because Val is basically a hero shooter, so there is carryover to Marvel Rivals.
In the beginning of Val, it was more similar to CSGO, so CS players could transition to Val
Now Val players will go to MR for a better hero shooter or to CS for a better tactical shooter.
Clove is like a 90% pick rate in Ranked
Give Omen and Brim one after-death smoke, and I bet Clove is still picked more than them.
Yes but full sticking leaves the round up to chance. What if the Reyna came out sooner?
I just have to rant because I have seen countless blunders in 1v1 situations as a defender, even in Immortal elo. Now that Clove is meta you will usually be able to use a smoke for the defuse.
The biggest blunder I see is when the defender tries to full-stick the spike in a 1v1. They defuse about 3/4 of the way, and then the attacker walks in the smoke and kills them. Had they gotten the defuse to half, and then simply gotten off it and played by the edge of the smoke, then they would have killed the attacker walking in.
Two examples of me playing the spike correctly:
https://youtu.be/u9T61DCM_GA
The idea is the attacker always has to check a spike that's smoked because the defender could be full sticking the spike. A defender that assumes the attacker won't check the smoked spike is just leaving the round up to chance. The defender has an ENORMOUS advantage waiting inside the smoke for an attacker to walk in. They also have an advantage if the attacker begins shooting outside of the smoke since it reveals their position.
Ironically the only time you should ever full-stick the spike is when the spike isn't smoked and you have no info on the position of the attacker. You should full-stick because you are already at a big disadvantage. You should also full-stick when you have reasonable belief that the attacker is wrapping you. Gahh there are so many layers to the 1v1 post plant situation, especially because you can defuse the spike to half. I could probably write a novel on this!
Tejo is broken on Pearl. His molly on B halls and A main is so strong
He was on the most replaceable position, controller. Rankers will pick up the next cracked aimer and have him play Clove
There are three areas to smoke on Pearl A site: Art, Flower, and Dugout.
The vast majority of ranked players seem to smoke Art and Flower in my elo (Immortal)
I think it's much better to smoke Art and Dugout. What do you guys think?
It’s difficult to add new agents and not have the abilities change some fundamental aspect of the game.
These are abilities that completely redefined the game, more so Clove because she’s the agent with the highest win rate in Ranked.
I stopped considering Valorant to be a tactical shooter after Neon became overpowered for 6 months. Just have fun with the game. It was not meant to be as serious/competitive as CSGO.
Look at the crowds in each game. Valorant is much more random and casual which makes it fun for the casual viewer.
oBo at 16 was better
You had Korean Jett
Chamber’s Yay
Fun gimmicks like:
Flexinja
AverageJonas lineups
Brim molly lineups
Satchel Demon on Raze
Clove effectively killed the other smoke agents in Ranked. The game is in its most balanced state but also the most boring state. I mainly miss seeing Omen and Brim in ranked
wdym? i'm using Yoru abilities
he had the outlaw carried over from the Eco round. Also the Outlaw is great against money < 3900
Eggman would rip me a new one :X
Interesting. I'm Immortal :X
what rank do you think I am :X
whats your rank? I instalock Yoru in Immortal on NA servers
There was an online 2D spaceship game called Subspace\Continuum that was the shit
Split is a great map now after the Cypher nerfs
That’s fine that you play ranked for fun. Just don’t get mad when I mute all comms and focus on my own play
If I want one guy to play a 1v100 zombies game, then I’ll pick Shroud
I’ve been like this since CSGO. I queue ranked to improve and win the game, not spend all game yapping like it’s a podcast
No I completely understand what Shroud is saying.
He’s talking about my Valorant teammates that do nothing but yap and talk about how much money they have. Basically they do everything except try to win the game. These are the games I have to mute all comms.
Then they say, “ItS jUsT a gAMe”. Bitch I’m trying to win the game.
But honestly I fw Shroud on this one
just curious what rank you are? I'm immortal and i regularly abuse the Phantom like in this clip:
My game was laggy for a while so I was running the stats. I finally got a new router and that fixed it
No, it just makes the game harder for you.
Work smarter, not harder.
If Phantom spraying works, keep doing it.
Clip of me abusing the Phantom in Immortal: https://youtu.be/JQ0L8OtYkX8?si=yJeTYJG2w68cLGLu
It was a long overdue nerf. The ping still shows on the mini map.
Lmao get better noob. It does affect Sova Ult the most but it’s great for everything else
I have three accounts that are in Immortal right now. Two are mid Immortal and one is Ascendant/Immortal.
I main Yoru so I use the weakest MMR account for Yoru limit testing. The other two accounts I play more seriously.
Firstly I placed 4th in the Texas state middle school Chess tournament, so I feel like I can speak on this. I’m also 1900 peak rating on Lichess.
In Chess you are playing the same openings every game, but what separates the better players from the weaker players is their midgame and endgame. This is the same thing in CS.
In Valorant you have so many different agent comps and metas. The fact that you don’t know what agents the other team will select just introduces more variance into the game. On top of the individual skill gap being low, it just makes for a very random outcome.
I consider Valorant to be more similar to rock paper scissors than Chess. Rock paper scissors is a fun game, but we know the outcome is random. Just like the Val the pro scene, I feel like any team can beat any other team.
Dude I also had an ecouple on my team, and I made the girl laugh. Then the guy was arguing/disagreeing with me the rest of the match 😂
no i think you're onto something. Yoru is probably the most difficult duelist to pick up and play effectively. A Jett main can play Reyna, Neon, Iso, and Phoenix pretty easily.
Well NA was notoriously bad at CS compared to EU, so there aren’t many top NA players that switched to Val aside from Ethan.
You have the NA FPL guys like Shahz, crashies, s0m, victor, roza. These guys couldn’t hang in Tier 1 CS.
The top NA CS players are still playing CS though.
Jett, Reyna, Raze, Iso, Neon all nerfed
Actually not sure if Phoenix was ever nerfed
Yoru was buffed with the clone but never been nerfed
All they need is Eggsterr, Poppin, and BabyJ as the core. Hopefully nights and canezerra can run it back, but I'd imagine plenty of Radiant zoomers want to join Rankers.
Exactly. Yoru mains are either really good or really bad, so if you main Yoru and you’re good then you will be Immortal+ easily
If you get good at Yoru then you'll climb to Immortal pretty easily. Think about it, you never see any good Yorus in diamond and below because all the good Yorus are Immortal+
It’s hard to tell his weight because likes to wear baggy clothes
I checked Google and it said TenZ is 180 CM (5’11)
How much do you think he weighs? I would say 140 lbs or 64 kg
