The majority of NA Val pros were Tier 2/3 CS players, such as TenZ, ShahZ, Asuna, Bang, Demon1, Yay, BabyBay.

Nitro and Ethan were probably the best CS to Val players, which is funny because they are both NA.

I don't think any EU Val pros were ever CS pros

I took a year break from Val and played CS2. I think CS2 requires more aim and movement skill and that’s what makes it very satisfying to play.

I went back to Val a few days ago out of curiosity and I was completely frustrated with how slow and mundane the gun fights were. There is very little skill expression in terms of gun duels. It was then that I realized that Val is just a casual game that should be played for fun.

In CS, counter strafing is one of the most vital mechanical skills to master, but in Val there is no counter strafing, so everyone is already counterstrafing perfectly in Val so to speak. In Val you can tap A or D and move 1 millimeter in distance and stop on a dime just by letting go of the key.

After a few games I got bored of playing Val because I can’t look at it as a skilled mechanical game after playing CS2. It’s just point and click with very forgiving mechanics. I will say it’s still a fun play when you play it casually.

This argument doesn’t work since Valorant viewership is past its prime while CS2 is in its peak viewership

It’s funny but Chinese players are terrible at CS because they lack the mechanics and game sense. The best Asian players are probably Mongolians

In CS2 Donk is the undisputed #1 player. In fact there are numerous Youtube videos of people dissecting every move Donk makes just to see how he's so dominant. For a game as "simple" as CS2, it's quite remarkable that Donk is head and shoulders above the rest of the competition in terms of mechanics.

In Val there have also been dominant players, such as Yay, Demon1, Aspas, KangKang, and Primmie, but I don't think there's been one pro who's been the undisputed #1 player. To me, it seems like the #1 player will be whoever did the best on KovaaKs that day, or ate the best meal that day. Basically I feel like any Val pro could be feeling hot and become the best player that day. That's what makes Val "exciting" because of the randomness, but that begs the question, will there ever be an undisputed GOAT like Donk in Val?

posted 2 days ago

This is true. I'm someone who could never play more than 5 minutes of aim labs or Kovaaks because it was so boring

No I just wonder if people enjoy Val gun play or if its the abilities that attract them more. After playing CS2, it's difficult for me to enjoy Val gun play 😂

It's interesting because I find CS utility to be much more fun than Val abilities.

I think there is a high skill gap for using CS utility, specifically flashbangs

I've been playing CS2 for the past year, and I decided to play a Valorant game to see what's changed. First thing I noticed was how dumbed down the gun play felt. When I moved around, I felt like a snail walking in mud, peeking corners was so slow which makes you easy to get headshotted, and not needing to counter strafe just makes it easy for noobs to shoot. The whole gun play mechanics just felt rudimentary and unsatisfying.

In CS2 you are aiming more and moving more, and it's just much more satisfying to get kills. I go back to Val and it feels like I'm playing some Roblox web browser shooter 😂

My question is do you guys actually enjoy the gun play in Valorant?

Old Yoru and pre-Clove Valorant was the most fun I had in an FPS game

It was the perfect mix of aim + game sense that was needed to win

Now the game is just a run it down meta

Went back to CS2 earlier this year and it’s just better compared to the sad state of Val now

Come to CS2. If you’re as good as Donk, you don’t need teammates

It's actually cubital tunnel if it affects the pinky and ring finger. It happened to me due to bad ergonomics. It eventually healed in a couple of weeks.

Valorant gunplay is basically like playing KovaaKs aim trainer. You have to aim for the head as well as shoot all the abilities. To constantly have to be as precise as possible puts a ton of stress on the hand. I can only imagine how stressful it is for Val pros who have to be "on point" all the time.

Thank goodness I switched to CS2 where it's not just a point and click adventure 😂

I played Val for the first time in a year and I remember exactly what turned me off about this game.

1) Rotation times. I'm playing Chamber on Abyss, and it takes five whole freaking minutes to rotate from B site to the A site. My character is so slow and the map is so big. By the time I reach A site, the round is already over. This never happens in CS.

2) Attack side is just go A, get stopped initially, wait outside A for 1 minute, then finally hit A again. There is no defaulting or map control like in CS. Part of that is because the agents rely on each other, but holy hell is Attack side just boring AF.

3) Gun play and movement is so unsatisfying. In CS2 you are aiming, shooting, and moving more in general. It feels like I'm playing an FPS game. Val is more abilities with gunplay sprinkled in. If you like abilities over gun play and movement, then Val is the preferred game.

4) Teammates with Valorant accents and cringe banter. I think this is mainly an NA thing but my teammates were all sinatraa wannabes and trying to banter with each other. This is such a big difference compared to CS where my teammates are much more serious about the game.

I did enjoy some moments like playing Clove on Haven, but that's because Clove is still an overpowered agent. All in all, I do think Val is a fun game when you play it casually. It's very easy to just drop in and play the game since it's not mechanically demanding.

The most fun I've had playing Val was playing Brimstone or Omen, because these were controllers that relied on game sense. Once Clove took over Ranked, the game became very stale and the game play was more "run-it-down" focused.

Now that Clove is here to stay, I don't think Brimstone will ever become a viable controller again. It's too bad, because playing Brim was the most fun I've ever had playing Val. It made Val more fun than CS to me.

posted 3 weeks ago

and that's if they buff Brimstone so that he's playable. Now that was when Val was fun!

Until then I will enjoy playing CS2 thank you very much.

Riot's mistake was making a cartoon game that's targeted towards children. You have a playerbase full of children that are very immature.

I am a fully grown adult. Why would I play a children's game and interact with children?

In fact, anyone over 21 would probably be put on a list for playing this cartoon game.

Haha I'll enjoy my time in CS2 with other adults thank you very much.

Eggsterr and Poppin weren't good enough aimers

Haha, I would rather play CS2 and play an 18+ game thank you very much.

You could be convicted of serious crimes and still be able to play Valorant in jail if you had the means. Riot is not the police 😂

Riot hardware banned Cane because of TOS breach, bad things he said in their game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if he wasn't on Envy, he still would've been hardware banned.

Just checked and his official reason for being banned was: "Repeated disruptive player behavior and breaking the Terms of Service."

I was watching SicK’s stream and he mentioned that when he was at a team bootcamp, ShahZam and Sean Gares got in a heated argument and they went chest to chest. Sean dared ShahZ to hit him but he didn’t. Good thing because Sean Gares was huge back then.

He also said that when he was on Team Rogue that they were all in an elevator. Their manager bent down to tie his shoe and then a player named “cadian” put his balls on the manager’s head. No one in the elevator did anything or ever discussed this event afterwards.

If they never added new agents and Jett and Raze were still OP, then the game would be much different

Valorant has better anti cheat, but what else is better related to the gameplay?

posted 2 months ago

I stopped playing Valorant in January and started playing CS2.

I switched to CS because the gunplay was better and good mechanics were rewarded more.

Val has noob friendlier gunplay, but it was also marketed to be more tactical. I’m not familiar with the meta now, so what makes Valorant tactical and is it more tactical than CS2?
