Maybe a Controversial opinion but on most maps in any elo except like high immo and rad team comp doesn't matter, what matters is how people play together and how comfortable they are on agents. I would rather have a clove, cypher and 3 duelists who all like playing their agent and understand their agent than for my instalock reyna to be on sova and not know how to use his kit and still play fights like a reyna. There is no point. Cyoher cam is a drone if you know how to use it, reyna flash is an entry flash for my jett and so on... comfort >comp
i agree up to a certain point
just cuz ur comfortable doesnt mean u should lock jett reyna raze phoenix yoru on sunset for example, it just literally doesnt make sense. it doesnt matter what rank u are in because whichever rank u are in the enemy is in the same rank and presumably the same skill level as you
on an even playing field, the team with the better team comp wins
sure whether u play omen or astra may not matter that much, its the fact that u need a SMOKES character is what matters for example
controller in mid to high elo is defo important but u can get away with if it everyone instalocks duelist
in low elo team comp doesn't matter at all
initiator doesn't really matter that much until like high immortal or radiant cuz u can just use a reyna flash, yoru flash, initiate with an iso vulnerable or an omen blind etc...
ur logic of "low elo team comp dont matter" does not make sense at all
- that is not how the game is supposed to be played, characters exist for different roles and different purposes for a reason
- if it ACTUALLY doesnt matter its still good to build good habits for higher elo
- if ur logic is just oh ill just aim diff them remember that YOU are in the SAME RANK for a reason. you are not better than the enemy team, so u cant just pray "oh i hope i just aim diff them" no, that doesnt make sense because u guys are the same rank
initiators absolutely matter lmfao any decent enemy with a brain will just play hard corners when u dont have like a fade skye sova etc
u would have to MANUALLY check with your body EVERY SINGLE corner and thats gonna be a hella pain in the ass to do
this is how i know ur not high elo an initiator absolutely matters try playing split or ascent without an initiator for example and see how hard it is to clear those corners that normally u drone
ALSO it makes it incredibly hard on the duelists to entry without having corners properly droned or scaned theyre basically using their life to clear the corners and if they often die because like 5 different angles arent cleared u go at them and start being like oh why do u instalock when u bottom frag or wtv but the reality is its hard for them to do their job when theres fundamentally missing vital pieces of utility that enables them to

people instalock because they deem themselves best for the role and confident, they take their role because they are unable to play other roles

when ur inflexible, you would have to instalock, because if u dont instalock and u end up filling for a shit role and lose the game bcz of it thats on u
I don't think instalocking is inherently bad but blaming your team for locking more duelists when you instalock is stupid. You both have the same issue of inflexibility, you just locked first putting the burden on them. In that scenario, you can't be mad if they don't perform because that same thing would happen to you too
