In my honest opinion vct and challengers are far more enjoyable and entertaining than gc will ever be. When i come home from work and i want to treat myself to some val esports matches to watch live, i would want to watch good players go against good players and not mediocre asc 1/diamond players that have some false hope in themselves, on top of that gc is getting so much funds just for the games to make you fall asleep and snor. No one cares about gc teams nor do they ever get recognized it's just funny how they have so much religious defenders.
Heh, im not trying to start trouble but i just thought i'd share my opinion so yeah

gc makes more money for riot than ascension, its not about it being better or not, for example vct cn doesnt make sense in terms of level because they are the worst league and cant compete because even if they are huge af in population and pc gamers, there isnt enough pc fps players to compete with the rest of apac so it would make more sense to give some vct cn slots to jp and kr orgs to make an east asia league, and then give the jp and kr slots of vct pacific to sea teams to make it more competitive, but in terms of money vct cn is probably the league that makes the biggest amount of money out of the 4 leagues so riot just made vct pacific with jp kr and sea teams and gave tehir own league to china because of viewership

I really doubt that gc makes more money for riot than tier 1 because of how incapable the players are in terms of skill, people watch lev for a reason. Theyre good and thats all that matters, i can assure you that gc does not make more money but instead just leech off the money that tier 1 make, i guess anyone could get asc1 and go pro while tier 2 just continues to die lol

? Tier 2 is literally dying, most orgs are going bankrupt/pulling out because of how neglected the scene is. Not even content creators can keep viewers interested so i dont understand how tier 2 could possibly be leeching off funding. You dont make sense

then just... don't watch it? i don't understand your point. feels like you just want to be pissed at something. it's okay to dislike it and you don't need to watch something you don't like. play a little, go outside, watch some old games, watch a movie, idc. just do something you like and want to do.

I don't hate it? lol when did i ever say that, hate is a strong word you know but you are missing the point. riot focuses so much on gc with their funding but they never care about tier 2 scene when its way more competitive and noticably recognizable, its really not deep i am just trying to deliver a point that gc are just scrims played by asc1 random players that are so boring to watch but yet they are riots favourite child whilst tier 2 is struggling to keep up with how little of funding they get. Can you not understand what im saying???

and the GC funding overall is not higher than T2 at all, the only thing they have different is an international event (which you could argue T2 should have, or at least classify to champs play-ins). GC is also a temporary league and will end in a few years so its not really comparable

and regional gc has as much viewership as challengers leagues if not more in some cases so of course is as interesting as challengers to riot

The fact that tier 2 is just completely neglected and has less viewership than f*in gc just boggles my mind, the schedules for t2 matches are also stupid. No wonder it's dying

yeah sadly T2 is on a whole situation rn, but its not gc's fault, things wouldnt change if gc didnt exist. riot is just a bad company at esports and made a unhealthy and unattractive format overall
