???
Because they don't fight for the same slots. The qualifiers are already divided. Why would they count together at the end?
Player Count is a factor but it shouldn't be a major one because a very small amount goes to proplay and historically NA and BR has the best viewership (Outside of China) and results as a region.
EMEA GC is 75-80% europe, and geographically the majority of the scene is smaller US and BR. So there's no reason to be EMEA itself, and not just divide it into EU and MENA (there's not even african orgs qualified lol)
The ideal world would be, of course, expanding GC to 12 teams, and dividing EMEA into EU and MENA. But sadly they're not doing that, so there's no reason to give 3 slots to EMEA
It's not fair to consider AMERICAS as an entire region with 4 slots when 1. They don't fight for the same spots 2. They're geographically 10x times bigger than the EMEA scene 3. They historically have better results even as separate regions (even if G2 won, BR got top 3 with two different teams 3 times in a row)
So then why do you think its fair to consider EMEA as one region with 3 slots? You're applying double standards
I agree EU doesn't need 3 slots, but EMEA does. They should break EMEA in to EU (2) and MENA (1), the same way they have AMER broken up.
Results are a bad way to reliably create a bracket, or else the format would be changing every year, it's supposed to be consistent.
NA has had a team come 9-10th 2 years in a row now and they still have 2 slots, and even despite those results I and most people think they should keep 2 slots. (Are you willing to say NA only need 1 slot based off 'results'?)
