Formula 2 Method for GC

As GC's main purpose is to give opportunities to marginalized groups, making it a "special division", What if we prohibit GCC winners from competing in the GC bubble in the future and instead make them compete in T2/Challengers? I think they've been given enough opportunity to show their worth (so the argument "lack of opportunity" won't be relevant anymore), and with the championship in hand they sure are the best GC can offer. Also, this can help the GC scene be more balanced and allow future talents to rise to the ranks.

I got this inspiration from the Formula 2 Championships, where the champions are not allowed to compete at the same level anymore, Allowing the best drivers from the F3 to compete.

Interesting idea, but that should be coupled with the fact they can't be demoted for the rest of the year.

But the problem with that is that we dont know yet if GC team have the level of T2 yet, if they get rollstomped for one full year this mightbe a problem. Before doing that we need to gather more data about GC teams in T2, TLBR playing in T2 Brasil in 1 weeks will help us to have a precise idea of how the GC team are (MIBR could also give us an idea but lets be honnest, they just come back from GCC, they will be burnt if they take the tournament too seriously)

We know no GC team is T2 level considering none of them can get past unpaid T3 pugstacks in T2 open quals.

Hard to know, T2 were never an objective for GC teams, so they never really tryharded it

That literally makes no sense lol. These teams definitely tryhard in T2 open quals. They just suck and can't make it.

The best GC teams aren't good enough at all to get into T2. Banning them from GC would just make them unemployed considering their entire brand and value comes from competing in GC.

That's a possibility sure. But if it was up to me I'll take my chances.

My point was that the GCC-winning team should be "facilitated" to go to the Next Level, to achieve more than Game Changers Championship. Think of it as exiting the kiddie pool, or removing the third wheel from a bicycle. They've got their exposure, and they've received relatively fair chances, so what other things do they need? They should compete like all other players. Shouldn't their goal be playing at the highest level? not just being big fish in a small tank.

Sometimes the hand of fate must be forced.

EDIT : By Facilitated I mean forced to compete like others, not handed a spot.

Your analogy makes no sense. T2 isn't some make a wish league that rewards spots to shit teams that can't qualify on their own merit. They should compete like all other players and have to go through open quals like all other players.

No2 I think you misunderstood. I didn't say They should get a spot in T2. I explained it badly it seems.

They should compete like all other players and have to go through open quals like all other players.

This is precisely what I meant. GC has already given them enough chances, so I feel it's unfair for them to keep competing in it. They should compete like everyone else.

I think I get what you mean but Riot can't force GC players out of the league. There would be huge community uproar over it.

Maybe Riot can force GC players ton participate in T2 quals but there's only so much Riot can do.

Are you forgetting there's already a huge community uproar with trans players in the current gc pool? It's an idea they could potentially propose to the GCC team tbh. I think forcing them might not work but giving them a good incentive and some compromises can maybe make them look into it.

Reserve their spot in group stage in challengers, they play for 1 year if they don't perform they get demoted and new gc champion team gets the reserve slot. It's just for representation sake

I think this is good for settling the "Are GC good enough for T2" debate.

But honestly kinda unfair for the OQ or Premier teams that lost.

That's dumb. They clearly aren't good enough so you're just denying an actual T2 team from participating to bring in a GC team.

I think currently tier 2 is not good in investment. And riot need to think about tier 2 before game changes.
One fix is academy team for each league team. now currently lot of APAC teams do.(this was major fix)
Other fix is get rid of game changes and invest it in tier 2(this was minor fix btw)

GCC is actual value isn't to give GC players chances to get into co ed its pretty clearly a thing to have a space and a fanbase which is probably mostly female so they can have more reach so people can buy there skins also good public image (representation) of there game which gives more players etc

and the sad thing is about T2
riot will exploit even if they don't like it is T2 will exist no matter what as long as there is a T1 league to play for so as company without public backlash there is ZERO reason why they should invest money in it even now the orgs are the ones paying for academy teams i think but honestly academy teams help a ton so the problems with t2 rn are quality of life changes or borderline fairytales
