Best Valorant team each year

Let’s by results deduce who the best performing team was

Edit: I’ve found out that most people on vlr are completely illiterate. I’ve made a post deducing the best team throughout the entire year based on every performance be domestically or internationally.
Somehow it gets interpreted as a list of the teams that peaked at champs. GG it’s cooked

2021:
Gambit

No questions they were insane

2022:
Optic

You could argue loud, but the performance at masters Copenhagen will put them a tiny bit behind optic. If they weren’t eliminated by Kru in groups they would be nr1 imo

2023:
Fnatic:

Again, you could argue EG, but taking the whole year into account, a 1st, 1st, 4th finish from fnatic solidifies them.

2024:
GenG

This one is a bit controversial. You could argue Sentinels, Heretics or Edward, but in my opinion, due to GenG being the only team apart from the rest that managed to keep their form till champs, im gonna have to barely put them ahead. It could swing whatever way honestly, but Sentinels and TH getting farmed domestically and EDG only turning on their screens for champs is ultimately what makes me pick GenG

What are some of y’all opinions? Feel free to comment down below and don’t forget to like and turn notifications on

I’d agree if fnatic didn’t consistently farm in domestics and rarely dropping between 5 rounds lost domestically and internationally.

EG in my opinion gets deducted from incredibly poor performances domestically

I could pug EMEA domestic leagues with 4 randoms from my ranked lobbies and come top 3 in EMEA, meaningless justification on your part

EG looked shaky domestically because Americas is an actual competitive region with talent

why do you europoors always exaggerate anything you don’t agree with haha. finishing 3rd = “incredibly poor performance” you have to be autistic

Eg finished 4-5 with a toss up to qualify for playoffs in the americas league. That is an honest weak performance

I don’t think there’s an argument for 2024 tbh. gen.g was shitting on everybody all year until that one champs match

people need to accept the fact that the best team of the year is whoever wins champions.

it's not an argument it's just the way the season is setup, the prize is bigger than the rest of the year, the competition is higher.

Acend
LOUD
EG
EDG

the rest were just the best when it didn't matter.

Heretics is actually the best team of 2024 because they lost when it mattered the most times

nah bro, fnatic won one masters event in 2023, but are somehow better than champs winners EG

CHAMPS = EVERYTHING

You're forgetting that Fnatic has boaster and is from Europe, so they get extra cope points

This is like saying EG was the best team in cs go while astralis dominantly swept the whole year except for one major

That's not how it works in CSGO, a major is a major

EG was the best team. Fraudnatic won a masters (fluke) and got cleared by Loud twice when it mattered most.
EG won Champs, the most important tournament of the year.

agree basically

the best team of the year doesn’t necessarily mean there aren’t better teams, it just means within that timeframe one team had an overall better season that the other

for example, as a team eg 2023 > fnatic 2023, but fnatic were consistently the best team throughout the year up until the end of champs where eg proved they were better

so eg > fnc, but fnatic had a better 2023. just wish eg 2023 stuck around because i feel like that could’ve been an actual dynasty
