Apparently, some GC players get paid 2x, 3x of what a lot of VCT T1 pro players get paid. I have not quarrel with a brother or sister making their bread but how tf do GC teams afford that kinda salaries? How does that make any economic sense when GC has such low viewership?

The average VCT pro gets paid around 10-20k a month raw salary from what I heard
So what you are saying is that an average GC pro makes 60k a month, 720k a year, 3.5 million a year in salary only for the whole team not even considering that this is just an average player so in theory top talents should make like milli and a half a year

I think it's just money burning by the organization and sponsors because there is no way GC Scene can payback those high salaries.
And again, it's never fair for those cis male people because just because they cis, they need to give up their pro dream because the competition on regular vct is so tight, while just because they are not cis, they get a bigger chance to shine, but yeah, it's where the world we live in is. You can't say I'm transphobic because it means I hate myself if I'm transphobic. What I mean is that those cis males are also human.
It all comes down to the fact that VCT is not a pure meritocracy. You aren't getting paid purely based on skill. It's on the value you generate for the org. Riot made GC and pumps a ton of money into it so GC players by virtue of being GC players generate value for their orgs so they get paid as such. Teams like SR also have close to 0 competition so they can farm the lions share of the prize pool/value generated so they can pay accordingly.
I mean it wouldn't suprise me that meL, alexis, and flor make like 100k. SR obv loses money (like every org) but they make sure that they stay the #1 GC team in NA both in results and fan support. Gives shopify good PR and if GC grows a bunch somehow then they are in a good position to gain new fans
