Don't listen to these people. It's Fade. All of her utility reveals enemies, and that's what's more important in ranked since you can just go shoot them once you know where they are.

Sova is way slower, and if you're gonna play flash initiators in solo queue you might as well go Phoenix or Yoru instead.

i like sova more because his util can be used selfishly or for the team so you can change your playstyle according to how you like
gekko is pretty good too though

Here's a quick pros/cons list for you:

Sova
✅ Scan + drone to reveal enemies
✅ Shocks to break trips + deal damage
❌ Does need at least a few lineups to play effectively
❌ Doesn't have util to help you take fights

Fade
✅ Everything gives you info (info is key)
✅ You can chuck everything and it just kinda works
✅ The ult and seize deafen people (this is super fun to abuse)
❌ Eyes can be broken pretty easily

Gekko
✅ Util can be used very frequently
✅ Ult is great, especially if you farm it
✅ Planting/defusing spike is great as well
❌ His util can be pretty easy to break
❌ You can get killed picking your util back up

Skye
✅ Very simple kit, lets you focus on gunplay (the Brim of initiators imo)
✅ Flashes are very flexible
✅ Dog is always good to have
❌ Not much info once your flashes are gone
❌ You will get flamed for not healing your duelist who's at 97 hp on the other side of the map

Breach
✅ Util dumping people is fun
✅ Ult is great for execs/retakes
❌ It's really hard to play for yourself
❌ Util is pretty clunky
❌ Doesn't give you the info that other initiators do

KAY/O
✅ Suppression is great, especially in higher ranks
✅ Very well-rounded kit
❌ Left-click flashes are hard to use (unless you're proficient with KAY/O you need lineups)
❌ Has the worst winrate of any initiator in ranked

for KAYO, just ping the spot you want to flash and stand 25 meters away. flash will pop around that distance. for right click, its about 6 meters. running backwards flash is 15 meters

you'll get a feel for it the more you play but those are just some numbers to help u

That is a helpful trick, true, but until this becomes second nature it's not very convenient in practice, I've found

I'm a primary recon player, and I've played in Game Changers. This is what I play on each map.

Ascent: Sova (KAYO if you have recon)
Haven: Sova (Breach if you have recon)
Icebox: Sova (KAYO/Gekko if you have recon)
Abyss: Sova (KAYO if you have recon)
Sunset: Sova/Gekko (Breach if you have recon)
Breeze: Sova
Split: Skye
Pearl: Skye/Fade (?)
Bind: Skye (Gekko if you have Skye, depending on your comp)
Fracture: Breach/Fade depending on comp
Lotus: Fade (Breach if you already have recon)

Definitely Fade. You get consistent info and you can play off your own prowlers — plus the stopping power of the seize is pretty decent.

Sova, Gekko, and Kayo are too reliant on team play while Skye has a utility deficit.
