happy personally coached him tho. i think he knows what he is capable of. i don think he personally chose him just to be buddy buddy with him considering happy is a well respected coach. i dont think navi would fail just because they dont trial him at first. multiple rosters have trialed and even been dominant in them and have flopped. trials are only an indication if thinks are working but never final.
I understand that he's a reasonably good coach, but he's on a completely different and new team. He can't really assess well if this will work out if he's only really familiar with koalanoob and not the team. Either way, the decision to contact koalanoob and think about signing him feels rushed considering Happy's being put on a new team.
Why is "nepotism" seen as a terrible thing in roster construction?
Short trial periods are not enough to properly assess players, you cannot assess how they will react when losing big games or longer form issues that arise in team environments.
Yes i understand that "mechanical better players" may be left out but we have seen time and time again that team dynamics are key.
Nepotism can only take you so far in a competitive space, you will need some expertise to stay/progress.
