Facing this issue recently where val started freezing my pc during agent select or just after loading into buy phase of pistol round. I can heae everything and my duo can hear me on discord as well but my pc is frozen and doesn't allow any inputs. Some solutions I've found online are disabling gpu acceleration and fast startup but even then the issue persists.
My pc specs:
Ryzen 7 5800x
3060ti gpu
24gb ram

If anyone else faces the same issue or someone who solved this please lmk!

He is not wrong, the best option is just to reinstall valorant since sometimes it fails to load dependencies(?) correctly.
Also did this start happening all of a sudden one day or did you install any thing new on your system or changed some settings?

I restart it and it's fine once the game starts(I told my duo to not remake and it ran smoothly) but then it continued again during the next March's agent select:(

I used to take ages to load into games. Like first pistol round would finish by the time I loaded in but it was fixed in the last patch thanks the valorant gods. This is unrelated to the post but I just wanted to give my fun fact.

was having a similar issue where i was getting about 1/8th of the frames i would typically get and would also get a blue screen sometimes. would recommend trying:

  1. reboot
  2. uninstall/reinstall valorant and vanguard
  3. windows recovery tool
  4. reset pc (use windows cloud tool for a clean version of windows). takes a couple hours and you have to reinstall all apps so only do this if necessary.

Edit: Also I should probably note that I did the following and resetting my pc was what fixed my issues.

doug mentioned this issue and I thought since it was stated by a caster, a fix would come soon. but nothing.
and recently derke said the same thing and Riot Nu's response was to use borderless window mode. did not mention if any fix coming or anything at all. borderless window is a headache when using multiple monitors

my spec
Ryzen 5600x

corsair vengeance 16gb 3200mhz

I had the same problem until I found out that my SSD only had 10% life left

i use CrystalDiskInfo to see the health of the ssd/hd

I had this before as well. It started since the new agent selection UI update but with the new patches coming in, it happened less and less now. I think the a fix is on the way.

I had the same issue but not just with val, checked some stuff on my pc and realised a windows update turned resizable bar forcefully off so had to fuck around in my BIOS and windows settings to get it back on

also try a full driver reinstall (factory reset then install newest)

I DID MOST OF THE CHANGES AND AFTER QUITTING MEDAL AND RUNNING THE GAME IT HASNT CRASHED YET(PLAYED AROUND 4-5 GAMES). SO POSTING THIS HERE IF THAT HELPS ANYONE OUT SINCE IT SEEMS MEDAL WAS THE ISSUE ALL ALONG

what is your ram stick slot
i would suggest only using 2 and 4 or 1 and 3
do not mix memory modules

That causes an issue? Currently I have 3 8gb ram sticks in 3 adjacent spots

yes actually your memory controller on the cpu just needs to process extra instructions which increases load and will reduce performance significantly

Don't worry it's just one of those phases. It'll stop eventually

Get in touch with the riot devs by submitting a ticket.
They'll most likely ask you to download the Riot Repair Tool and share the logs generated. From that they can let you know if anything is an issue from the dependencies or if anything is bottlenecking

Had this issue last year. Game used to freeze and crash on either match loading or ending screen, during the white transition. Turned out one of my RAM was bad. switched to another pair and issue never reoccurred, until the used the bad pair of RAM again. The RAM issue only occurs in Valorant, it passes the real benchmark without any issues.
