I've seen a lot of posts about racism and similar issues, and I think it's misguided to believe that social media threads will solve these problems.

I commented on a thread saying, "POV: You weren’t bullied in high school," which was meant as a joke. If you’ve been shielded from real-world interactions, it's important to understand that online comments can often be harsh. If you're easily offended, maybe taking a break from the internet could help.

People who are upset about jokes related to their ethnicity or background need to remember that online platforms are filled with varied opinions. Most of us are fortunate to have the devices that allow us to engage here, and it’s not constructive to dwell on negative comments.

Ultimately, don’t let online remarks dictate your self-worth. Focus on living your life fully, unaffected by the opinions of others.

You're so right for this people expect the whole internet to respect others' cultures/races for all of a sudden, like internet is litterally the place for you to say anything without having consequences while being anonymous and people wont even know if you're joking or not so you either gotta take a break or find a way to deal with it whether its roasting them back or ignoring them

"People who are upset about jokes related to their ethnicity or background need to remember that online platforms are filled with varied opinions. " Interesting take on racism

Its not about change, its about let people notice.
You cant change the person, irl or in internet, but you warn they to they notice and see if theyselfs can change.

If you’ve been shielded from real-world

People irl, doesnt say the things you guys say here, because a LOT of reasons, ima list a fews.

  • No face to face.
  • No rules
  • No ruler
  • You are miles away from this people
  • No punishment
  • No phsical contact
  • No impaty
  • Protect by anonimacity

Many other, and i even dont touched the filosóficas ones.
In summary, is a delusional argument, if you normalize racism and xenophobia just because "Internet is harsh" people will turn racism and will not realize they are racist.
Say that "people need to take a break" its the same you say people should give away their homes to thiefs who allways break in you home.

platforms are filled with varied opinions.

Brother is racism, isnt a opinion, its racism.
Opinion doesnt justify being rude, i have a opinion extremely negative about a lot of users here, this doesnt let me be rude to they, and if i am, 100% this person was rude first, and even with me being rude, you have no ideia how much i restrict myself to doesnt pass the level of being mean.

Ultimately, don’t let online remarks dictate your self-worth. Focus on living your life fully, unaffected by the opinions of others.

This the only thing i agree in you tread, the rest is you trying to say people are soft and internet """""is like that""""".

Your tolerance for such negative language does not contribute to making the online community a better place.
