Back when the CIS region was a thing, Kazakhstan would've counted as emea. However, since CIS as a region doesn't exist anymore and Kazakhstan is in Central Asia, they would be considered as APAC right?

Yeah should be among APAC

That's not how it works unfortunately. CIS not being a league doesn't mean the countries stop being EMEA. Mongolia for example was part of the Turkish league until a couple months ago when the Mongolz thing happened. Kazhakstan is indeed EMEA as far as I know

Kazakhstan should still be counted as emea.

As per the 2024 EMEA Rulebook the emea competitive region is defined as:

Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Holy See (the), Hungary, Iceland, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Iran

--- What i will say is that this definition is slightly outdated, since mongolia should have apac residency. But the likelihood is that nothing else has changed.

Mongolia were in the Challengers Türkiye region.

What I am saying is that recently they have been moved to asia pacific, but this change hasn't been reflected in the public rulebook.

Yeah, it's sad. Kazakh players would never get a chance to play in EMEA teams

Kazak is part of EMEA, Dimasick wasn't considered as an import in Liquid
