NA is cooked

I am a certified G2 defender. I have spent hours explaining why they are NA’s best team even back when they were doubted.

But I’m watching the match vs EDG and we BARELY scraped by. Here’s the reality: NA is cooked. Anyone saying otherwise is coping. The players from Korea and China have a work ethic that is unrivaled. Our teams recruit streamers and take weekends off, while they scrim for 10 hours a day.

Stereotypes, no, assumptions, yes. This post was not trying to be racial whatsoever. See #3 for why I am grouping together APAC and CN.

  1. As people have pointed out, the OVERALL tendency for NA teams to slack is evident in interviews and in the large number of pro player streamers (most notably, SEN, NRG, Loud, C9, 100T). This is coming from an NA fan, I can't tell you how many times a player will say "we weren't prepared."
  2. The scrim/VOD watch time comes from a GenG interview. I believe Munchkin is the one who brought up the 8-10 hour number.
  3. The main assumption comes from the fact that nearly all of the APAC/CN orgs have League counterparts, whereas most NA teams focus on Valorant, Apex, and CSGO. For the League teams, we DO have their schedules, and we know that the culture for e-sports in Asia is way different than NA. There is no reason why this culture would somehow flip for Valorant.

We are watching in real time as Valorant becomes League-ified, and NA has itself to blame.

Th beat Gen.G, bbl beat TH, TL beat BBL, Na'vi beat TL, and Koi beat Na'vi therefore Kamo is the best duelist in the world!

Maybe the future might be APAC & CHINA just taking over Valorant like League. EMEA and Americas is fucked.

I mean I wouldn't put much weight in one close game against a good team. EG had a closer game against FUT last year than they had against DRX in champs, and there are plenty of other examples I could point to. Teams matchup differently to one another and it all depends on how they're playing day by day. Just gotta hope they do well, it's still anyone's tournament

Generic stereotypes being thrown around makes no case at all

I think the game is just more competitive, and that the other regions have caught up, not necessarily that NA has fallen behind

Just so you know, G2 had tech issues on icebox that they weren’t allowed to discuss in further detail. Several G2 players have spoken about it

Any ideas why they weren't allowed to?
