Beer is a somewhat bitter substance. Those who do not enjoy it simply do not validate the assumption that the alcoholic relief you ascertain from it is worth the immediate bitter taste.

I am assuming those who enjoy it have grown accustomed to the taste after several beers, or simply enjoy the bitter taste. Regardless, people are different and like different things.
