Just because it's unrated and doesn't affect your rank, doesn't really justify smurfing their too. Some people just want to practice and relax and have fun without the pressure of deranking in unrated. Heck, the prevalence of smurfs in ranked is probably another reason why many want to play unrated.

Although slightly understandable, do you really need to play Ranked with your friends? Customs are such a good alternative and everyone can have fun in them. Yes, its a bit harder to create lobbies but 5 Stacks also take a good amount of time.
