after seeing drx ac vs zeta ac, you can clearly see those kids on zeta was getting destroyed except the guy called honeybunny
they need to invest more on academy and teach how to do shit or else jp are cooked

we can't unfortunately. JP team management somehow glazes over import players and neglect their own players. You can't expect to outgrow other region if you rely heavily on imports

Exactly. Look at Korea, despite having a bad challengers, they don't have a single import. It's because they know that challengers is not the endgame and is simply a means to an end. They know it's simply a place to develop talent.

Agreed, which makes me think that jp orgs being better financially than kr orgs is actually hurting them rn. They become lazy and began to look easy way out.

You can't expect to outgrow other region if you rely heavily on imports

But that's the point of having imports.. You import players from a better region so the league and local players can grow. Many football countries does this as well. It might be slow but imo it's the best way

I'm just annoyed everytime I opened a vcj match and the first comment that comes out is 2koreans<3 koreans bullshit. I don't want vcj to end up like JP league where they can't win shit without korean players.

okay, lets forget about imports for now, the problem is more spotted on jp player
SG varrel are some biggest example, misaya and nobita, gato are shit, varrel arn't that bad so they in top 3 but still veteran
those old guys needs to be replaced with new talent. use imports as a experiance
riddle explain the most. they lack on gaming IQ so they suffered split 1, now on. zeta kids are good at mechanics but because they haven't taught good

Great, get rid of the old and bad aimers and get an actual undeveloped players, it's about time teams other than ZETA Academy do it anyways.

Exactly. JP should have been banned from getting imports. So many imports and what was the end result? Absolutely nothing. Riot knew this yet they didn't do anything. Instead, if these three years the JP scene were to be forced to only focus on domestic talent, it could've been a top 5 region.

how can they learn to play if they don't have anyone good to teach them? imports is necessary, but should be capped at 2 max.

also the players need to learn English so they can actually comms and learn from the imports, not just hire a crack Russian/Korean player and just have them "go kill".

Imma be honest, I'd say just give up on JP players learning english, not because they can't , but it would just dampen their performance, which exacerbates this region's problem.

I do find imports necessary, if that actually meant that JP players can actually catch up or even surpass them. But that's not the case, you barely see any jp duelist, teams would test the limit the fuck out of the import rules, which lead to situation like most JP teams currently. Imma be honest if even if we cap the import quota to just one teams would just find a way to circumvent those rules or get an import duelist while having jp players as support, which doesn't solve the issue at all.

You learn from the scrims and coach, not the individual import players. And it's not like JP is absolutely incapable of producing anyone close to being a talent. Meiy is by far the greatest talent produced and there's others too like SyouTa, CLZ. When I was saying "ban imports" I was talking more about the players and not the coaching staff. Making them learn English is adding another problem on top of a mountain of problems.

What is the esports culture like in Jap? Cuz I know in some of the other East Asian countries it’s a lot more common and ingrained in the culture

Console gaming rules in Japan. So PC gaming and eSports never really developed there. It's improving nowadays tho. Apex and valo have huge viewership but eSports growth is still in it's early phase.

Japan was a very console centric country until recently, where PC gaming grew a lot with the rise of streamers. I think CR played a big part in it too.

Big in fighting games and arcade games, super competitive. Tougeki was extremely huge in Japan. But it ceased operations and there is a story behind it. After all that happened, single player games started to take over. Nowadays, everyone plays Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, a little bit of Apex, and some Minecraft. Only recently Val started gaining popularity. A few years back mobile gaming used to be bigger than both PC and console in Japan. Thankfully, things are changing and Valorant is getting massive popularity.

Don't worry, the moment Riot makes console only VCT the Japanese will dominate.

the problem is not on the import, your franchising teams just doesnt want to sign good players from the challengers

#25

the fan base are the problem tbh, fan base mainly suppports there team because of player so they can't just swap the player or else they lose there fanbase big

why not just ask ZETA or DFM to pick him up? why you act like its their fault they are not getting picked up by jp franchise org?

You misunderstand, no one is dumb enough to blame import player. We're blaming riot jp and jp teams for not actually doing something to develop jp talents.
