lets be real it is insane that emea has 5 trophies, as much as americas

emea was only the best region for 2 of their trophies back in 2021. every other year americas as been equal to or better

emea focuses way more on counter strike, americas has fortnite but so does emea.

americas is AND should be the betterregion, but somehow they dont have more trophies than emea?

i just think its crazy that if heretics win one series that emea will have more major trophies than any other region, despite being worse and their main game being cs

Okay I realize I could be misunderstanding this, this reads to me as a sarcastic attempt to basically say "Emea isn't even that good guys, we don't even really try. The fact that we've won so much, and could win this, says a lot about you guys"
Which just comes off as downplaying the fact that Emea is good. Americas can be a better region but still have around the same trophies as Emea and it's not that crazy.
2021: Emea is just better but Sentinels just had that early start to the game
2022: Americas is better but FPX with that life run to get them that trophy
2023: Americas as a region is better but Fnatic was the best team for a while. Franchising fucked with a lot and Fnatic adapted the best and got them two early trophies before everyone settled (not downplaying fnatic, wp to them, they deserve it)
2024: Still currently going on but Americas has been on average better than Emea so far. If heretics win wp to them they're a great team, but none of the other Emea teams are that great tbh
If you get what I mean, I find it kind of hard to explain

When I say life run I mean that they were playing at an incredible but unsustainable level, which I think has been shown, not that they aren't good, they're still very good

Yeah, I personally think it's just that Emea after 2021 seems be having one really good team that can really swing for titles while Americas has a few that are maybe a bit lesser than the Emea team at their peak. Definitely an interesting thought tho

exactly, 2023 emea was actually so dogshit compared to americas 2023 but still took 2/3 trophies because they built one fantastic team whereas americas had talent spread throughout

cryo on 100t, zekken and tenz on sen, keznit on kru, kingg on lev, leaf on c9 etc

Tbf I am surprised EMEA is still maintaining parity with other regions when Valorant doesn't seem to be doing well at all in the region.

Not trying to downplay anything, but Valorant is really not that popular a game in EU, the entire eSports infrastructure is still around CS heavily and anecdotally I find it rare to meet people who actively play Valorant but nearly everyone who has a PC has at least played CS. I don't know how popular Valorant is in other regions but it seems like it's gotten pretty big in China, Japan and NA. I have 0 frame of reference for how big Val is compared to competitors in Brazil.
