T1 T1 Korea Unranked stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) Meteor Kim Tae-oh (김태오) Sylvan Go Young-sup (고영섭) BuZz Yu Byeong-cheol (유병철) iZu Ham Woo-ju (함우주) have signed former DRX DRX Korea Unranked Flashback Cho Min-hyuk (조민혁) MaKo Kim Myeong-gwan (김명관) free1ng No Ha-jun (노하준) HYUNMIN Song Hyun-min (송현민) BeYN Kang Ha-bin (강하빈) star Kim "stax" Gu-taek (김구택) ahead of Stage 2 of the VCT Pacific League. The addition of stax now results in T1 having six players, though it is unconfirmed whether he will be on the starting roster.

stax is well-known for having been a star player for Pacific giants DRX, joining the team in 2020 while under the Vision Strikers Vision Strikers Inactive stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) Rb Goo Sang-min (구상민) Zest Kim Ki-seok (김기석) BuZz Yu Byeong-cheol (유병철) MaKo Kim Myeong-gwan (김명관) banner. The team built a reputation as an international powerhouse, with strong playoff performances in many tournaments. After a top-six finish in Champions 2023, DRX cooled down as they missed out on both Masters events of 2024. stax was later moved to the bench following DRX's loss to Gen.G Gen.G Korea Unranked Foxy9 Jung Jae-sung (정재성) t3xture Kim Na-ra (김나라) Munchkin Byeon Sang-beom (변상범) yoman Chae Young-moon (채영문) Karon Kim Won-tae (김원태) in Stage 1 Pacific playoffs.

T1 has been a staple of the scene, having been in North America initially before joining VCT Pacific. After participating in all international events in 2023, T1 started their 2024 campaign with a top-four placement in Pacific Kickoff. They maintained their momentum as they defeated Gen.G in the upper bracket of Stage 1 Pacific playoffs to qualify for Masters Shanghai, where they later went 0-2 in the Swiss Stage.

T1 will make their Stage 2 debut against Gen.G on June 16.

decent aint good enough chief, Carpe was never all that great in Valorant. Not terrible either, but I feel he lives off his OW past a bit, if it was another player they would already not be in tier 1 at this point.

Due to the time limitations between our time and Shanghai and Stage 2, giving us 11 days of practice, I personally would much rather have options rather than making extreme decisions like cutting a player, but that is a personal take. This allows us to have more time to make decisions while also having extra input to make the right choice before Split start."

How are you calling stax a star player? He's not had any star roles or stats in any of the teams he was in?

I think he's great - and a good move for T1 - just not a star player

Star players are players that the team plays around, sets up for their success, and have the potential to carry games by themselves. That's always been the definition of a star player in FPS games.

So by default, typically you'll see star players on duelist roles, it's almost as if Riot made a specific star player role for that reason. Stax just isn't this by the classical definition

Again, I think stax is a great player and a big reason of the success in his teams, especially early on, but he's not a star player in the traditional sense of the word
