if they win this event do we call Leaf the Best Sentinel in 2024 and Valyn the best IGL or nah
Ah shit that hurts then. At least he got a long time on the team so will likely have been noticed. Valorant franchising is dreadful for players getting maybe 1 tournament then being dropped down to tier 2 again and nobody even getting a chance to see what they're capable of with high tier support and development.
Nah bro, Gen.G isn't that much of a favorite for this event, they're still pretty good but their performance is not the same as Madrid.
I would only see PRX as a clear favorite.
100T can pull up some nasty performance and own the tournament or completely poop it and go home in a funny way, we will see.
Considering PRX Choke on GF, I can see a world where Gen.G won Shanghai
rn PRX and GenG are head to head, their performance is really close i would say
GenG are the first Korean team to reach GF on an international event, which DRX Couldnt do
The skill gap between PRX and GenG are much closer than PRX and DRX back in 2023. Sure that DRX beat some of the best team in 2023 like Loud and Navi, but compare to PRX in terms of performance against other region teams, they where slightly lower.
The only reason why PRX always lose to DRX is just because DRX is a kryptonite team
I don't like their playstyle, if is not that it's painfully slow but also seems repetitive.
But if they manage to make it work and earn themselves a masters then it's deserved, they are here for a reason and they've won their matches.
Props to them if they make it work, it would be boring to see though, at least for me.
Would be an absolute miracle ngl, the gauntlet they have to run is insane, and having to face PRX out the gate and more than likely immediately get sent to the lower bracket where one of EDG or a Heretics with more practice is waiting. G2 is a prime candidate to just get ran through by W gaming teams like EDG, PRX and TH so I really don't see them advancing past 7th/8th. If they even manage 5th/6th it'll be more than enough for me to be impressed
depends how you look at it, they had to beat KRU and C9 ( Dosent matter anyones opinion they had the best record in americas ) then get to shanghai and some ( not all ) considered them the underdogs vs T1 and TH but its debatable. Just to play PRX Round 1. Depends on your opions to believe if they have the hardest run. But I promise you 2 months ago no one outside of G2's Fanbase actually had them making shanghai and I doubt anyone really expects them to win this even so they're basically like the underdogs in everymatch from here on out.,
