about going pro

I peaked at imm2 8 months ago or so a while after i bought a new pc (my old pc was a shit laptop) but I havent been able to peak further and most of the acts I have been hardstuck asc3/imm1 with sometimes hitting imm2 (my peak is 178rr)

when I play scrims with my team against imm3+ players I actually play well in a coordinated environment so its not like I am getting destroyed vs good players but I just cant do good in ranked since I cant carry well with my role (smoke/sentinel) and I dont have the best mental. But someone like nats can carry ranked playing the same role so its not like its impossible

I look at the trackers of pro players and they all were always imm3/radiant and none of them had a phase like mine. is it over for me and do I just give up? Is it possible to improve in the game after some point or is it just genetics

genetics should play role to some extent, look at the examples from cs and valo

Scream - Nivera
MiniBoo - Boo
Forsaken - xcurrate (and they had 2 more brothers? idk)
Niko - Hunter
sergej - jimphatt
freakzoid - Cooper
hen1 - lucas1

the chances of going pro are lower than %0.001 but theres a lot of examples of 2 relatives making money off a game

Hello. I do not thinking Genetics is very important path to Pro. But if You are to truly go Pro improvement Yourself, even if Genetics are big reason of go pro. You to think you are lesser will lessen You. You are good player. Believe in self, to self Prove to Pro. Good luck. Thank you.

One could argue that the higher chance of going pro if you have a relative who is already a pro is more related to the environment rather than genetics. These players often grow up in families that don't limit their playing time, allowing them to improve faster than others. Also, having a successful brother makes you more inspired and less likely to give up + he can easily teach you instead of having to figure out everything about the game yourself.

imo, the influence of genetics is limited to like 10% maybe.

I'd say it's more the environment you grow up in, over genetics.

Growing up around an older sibling who's heavily invested in a certain hobby. You're bound to be a bit more interested or knowledgable regarding the hobby.

i feel like its more likely to just be having a family member go pro makes it easier to improve and go pro yourself but genetics probably do play a role actually

youre missing a very important idea

its not only that these guys have same genetics, but they have the same environment AND mentor. parents are 100x more likely to support their child in esports if their eldest child went pro in it

i think genetics are something minor in gaming. i wouldnt call valorant players the peak of human genetics

time and mentality are more important than genetics id say

all the pros you check have 4k+ hours in val and 5k+ hours in cs or some equivalent fps

I have 3k hours and was faceit level 10 in cs but I switched valo too late unfortunately (like mid 2022 when I started actually playing ranked)

I have 1.5k hours or so in valo, I feel like I should have already been high imm3 or radiant if I had what it takes to be pro

When you play val, do you play to just have fun and autopilot, or do you play while being hyper aware of your own gameplay.

Few years back I was a t3 siege player, and knew quite a lot of people in t1/2. the main difference between us from their perspective, is they'd spam tf out of the game, but they'd be hyper aware of what they're doing, why they're doing that, and what the risks were.
I'd just play the game to play the game and have fun, and try to improve by playing.
They're also vod review their own gameplay, and when they make a mistake, they analyse it, when it happens.

Work ethics and environment are large influences in how a player progresses. In my experience at least.

I feel like when I play, I am aware of what I'm doing and I know when I should take space or when I should hold back but obviously I might be biased because I am me and I never got my vod reviewed by someone better than me. I think my aim (like micro adjustments) are my weaknesses and I feel like aiming is something that you just have or dont have. And I tilt a lot when my teammates make stupid mistakes (not like bad aim but bad decisions or not listening to comms) or when I get toxic/passive aggressive teammates

I review my vod and try to understand why I whiff so much but I think it all comes down to small movement or aim mistakes that I don't have an answer about how to fix

I think being aware of what you're doing, but then it's being aware of if it's the right thing that you're doing. Is the angle you're taking good, is your read on the other team on point, etc.

With aiming, it's literally just practice. It's primarily hand to eye co-ordination, so doing activities outside of gaming that train it, would help a lot. aim training would help with mouse control, but for that I'd honestly just say go in a workshop map on CS over aimlabs.

With tilting, you need to learn to not care about winning or losing in ranked. Just focus on your own individual performances, and honestly I'd suggest trying to find some team around your elo, and do scrims. The difference between scrims and ranked is night and day.
Before VCT was announced, I played scrims, in a few tiny tournaments like epiclan, etc. Was small events, but the difference in game environment was astronomical.
Plus wanting to go pro at any point and just spamming ranked. Unless you're a prodigy, just go through he gauntlet of t3/4 events.

also if you're not sure why you're whiffing, are you panicking in situations? to fix small movements or aim, you'll have an awful time. On siege, or early on in val to fix my bad habits, I just had the worst time in my life. To fix my pre-aiming, I just palyed unrated with a guardian only. Just play with guns that punish you if you make a mistake. You'll ease out your habits that was.
Spamming guardian is how I stopped crouching aswell, as it just feels ass with it.

do you have any suggestions for aimlabs maps? do I just spam gridshot or are theree any useful maps

and I'm doing tier 5 events too (played a rib tourney today first time) but I need enough individual skill to hit radiant or I simply won't be able to shoot back against actual good players

honestly it probably means that you're a good player, but you excel more when there's a plan in order. a lot of pros get to high imm3/rad because they have another pro player duo, so maybe queue with your teammates and they can help you perform better?

Man I asked this question from FNS, should be helpful.
https://youtu.be/QtnBCECeL6E?si=NqmfIJF_QNk41yre

Also, He also said, do vod reviews more than usual, of ur own ganeplay(take notes of ur tendencies/ as well the opponents' to help u figure out how to tackle opponents of different Playstyles/comps)

Also, he said, non-pros mostly fail at the mental game rather than their mechanics/game sense being off. It's pretty draining to play matches but u have to keep calm and composed at all times.

He also said peaking radiant isn't gonna help u get noticed by teams. You have to be a complete player and be a good teammate, like not shit-talking, coming up with plans, always trying to set up for ur team to win.

Like if u know that, u dont have to push something, comm that to the team, instead if just knowing that yourself. These small comms can help u get man advantages and close out rounds.
I'm not a high elo player but I do try to get insights into pro play if I ever decide to go pro

Hope this helps

it took me 3 months of playing fortnite to win my first solo game and then i won 100 solos within the next 3 months. i couldn't crack top 1000 in a tournament 2 years after that and then i was top 100 and made money, months later i made it into the grand finals of fncs. just keep playing and if you enjoy playing the worst that happens is you don't go pro but you have fun playing Valorant. very few start off as one of the best in a game, but the ones that stick with it can eventually rise to that. i would recommend trying to become incredible in aim or igl imo

don't try and become a pro player unless ur immo 3 or higher.

99% of people even in immortal won't become pros

Genuinely, maybe seek out a therapist to help you work through your mental issues and your goals. They might help you realize what you want to achieve and will at least help you frame your mindset properly.

listen buddy going pro aint for everyone. Im a current t1 pro in americas (wont say who, dont want to reveal my real name on here, this account is for shit posting), Its extermly hard for anyone to make it to t2 quals let alone t2 itself, and dont even think about t1. There is so much talent in the world that you need a lot of luck to get picked up by even a trash t2 team. If you really belive you have what it takes, keep practicing and reach out to coachs/anaylists/teams/pros in your area, while making sure you have a back up plan (college/a job), because remember even if you somehow make it, theres a big chance you wont make any money, or be cut and never be on a team again.
