I think Kendrick > Cole
but he might have a point
yall are mad glazing to pimp a butterfly
its not that good tbh
I agree with you, but when cole is talking about kdot's prime hes not talking about the album that he or other people thought was the best. A lot of people would agree that it's not his best work, but damn is objectively kendrick's prime and I'm not sure why bladee666 found it funny that cole pointed that out.
J. Cole is the one of the best rappers alive now. His works are a classic and not for the newer attention span deprived generation who don't like anything other than Carti Yeat Uzi.
Simply put they overvalue beats over lyrics and will call any bar trash or corny if it doesn't mention sex weed smoke racism killing etc, you get it.
Cole being downplayed by everyone meanwhile "Seeyahhh BIHHH Cahhh Littt WHAEEE" music is being appreciated, that's why I never listen to anyone's opinion on music nowadays.
Also a friend of mine who's in Chicago and is black says the hood prefers Cole over K. Dot, don't listen to Twitter or Reddit about music opinion because its mostly filled with white mentally retarted teens.
I mean I can just say i appreciate cole's higher highs over drake's just average 4/10 albums, but i get what you're saying.
From the perspective of a cole fan (which I'm not), I could see myself being way less disappointed after coles average drop than I would be if i were a drake fan after drakes average drop, if that makes sense. I feel like thats an important distinction which is why in album quality i cant rank drake higher, even though I appreciate his highs much more than coles highs.
idc about rap beef i think we should all stop caring about 1-upping each other HOWEVER it is so funny that cole's first response is just to go through kendrick's discography and basically give his personal rating. most of the time you seem people attack the person themself, but cole and kendrick aren't really on bad terms and kendrick doesn't have some awful past to bring up, so we end up just reviewing music instead of beefing. this is all especially funny when its Kendrick Lamar that you're targetting. i can't think of anyone with a more consistent, universally loved, and critically-acclaimed catalogue, and cole decides his best chance of winning the beef is to call TPAB overrated and sleepy. like huh??? there's like 100 people in the world that agree with him, and millions who dont
