My Masters Madrid Player And Team Predictions

Today I thought id ruin all my future credibility on VLR by posting my masters Madrid predictions and getting them completely wrong, I'm gonna rank all the teams from 1-8 and then rank players by their role 1-8.

Starting off with the team ranking (if you want to know my reasoning for my decisions ill let you know down below)

Now onto the player rankings, I will be ranking every player based on their role from 1-8 (note that the roles arent perfect due to overlap but i tried my best to fit everyone into their correct category)

How is Life even a flex? Never seen him played initiator

you don't need to play initiator to be a flex its just thats the traditional "flex" archetype because of double initiator.
someone with 35 duelist-30 smokes- 35 sentinel would be considered a flex
edit: note: this is not specifically for life, more a general take

The Guard run is a fluke though. Why do u think they never made it to another international event? Even today G2 is a mid table team.

Xset faces optic(another top team) and lev which are at their level. They are a top 6-8 team and it shows in their second tournament

you cannot exclude TGRD because you think it was a fluke lol, even at reykjavik they were up 10- 4 vs optic on map 3. If they had international experience they probably don't choke the 10-4 lead.

and what is ur point on xset? they were BAD vs optic at copenhagen and leviatan was another team that got given direct playoffs placement and had no previous experience, but did better at their second international event (champions). Xset was the exact same way. did very bad or choked before they had international experience, after getting it they looked better
then there's zeta(0-2 at masters berlin, 5-3 and 3rd at reykjavik the following event
so,
xset (0-2 at M2C -> 3-2 and top 6 at champs)
Lev (1-2 at M2C -> 2-2 at champs)
ZETA (0-2 at M3B, top 3 at reykjavik)
100T (went 1-2 at champs, made top 8 at Lock\in)
Liquid (1-2 at M2R, top 4 at champs)
KRU(1-2 at M2R-> top 8 at M3B/top 4 at Champs)
X10 (1-2 at M2R-> top 8 at champs
Paper rex (0-2 at M3B -> top 4 at reykjavik)
EG(1-1 at Lock\in -> 2nd at MT)
EDG (0-1 at lock\in -> Top 6 at tokyo)
I know some of these have red herrings, so don't bring them up, its irrelevant.
Might i mention that FPX at copenhagen(which is really a cop out because they only didn't make it to reykjavik because of the war) are the ONLY team without international experience to make top 4 at an international event

Xset did not perform much better in Champs vs Reykjavik. Thats the point. They fail when they face a top team.

And correlation does not equal causation. Only one team making it top 4 from your list have other explanation, namely that the reason they fail is because teams like the Guard only play against NA teams and are caught offguard when facing a PRX or Loud(teams with a different style) . This is not true anymore with the merging of regions in Americas and Pacific, and now that you have only 3 leagues any competent couch would be prepared for any teams.

yes correlation does not equal causation, its obviously a combination of multiple things. I am not saying it is a 1:1, i am saying it has an affect. If we did stats for every event champs 21 and onward, teams with previous international experience will be noticably better than teams without it
