T1/T2 Salary

If you had no information about the current salaries of professional players, what would you expect the pay to be like? I brought this up because I heard about some of the salaries of some pro players and wondered if teams would've stayed around if the salaries were a bit lower.

depends on the region and org. Sentinels and LEV probably pay their players around 30-40k a month while EG and most Pacific teams pay around 10-15k a month. I dont really have any idea what the average EMEA salary is (this goes for tier1 and is in USD)

Tier2 again depends on region and org but a lot of the tier2 orgs are just paying league minimum(4.5k monthly) But some teams like M80, Apeks, and Oxygen are closer to 15k and have similar salaries to tier1 teams. RN most tier2 players are on F/A teams and arent paid anything tho

You're way off, the old EG roster was all paid around 35k monthly(excluding demon1 because he was on the reserve roster) and when EG said they were gonna give 50% salary cuts everyone but Jawg left. TenZ btw was bought for over $1mil his salary is absolutely around 40k.

I cant find the post and I dont really care enough to look harder for it but im pretty sure either Purest or George G*ddes leaked some teams average salaries

Do you think the salaries are too high, considering they're playing a game for a living and not really risking any injuries? Do you believe that if they cut down on salaries, esports would be more sustainable?

I dont think risk of injury should determine someones salary but yeah players in Americas are very overpaid. Some orgs are already lowering salaries, C9, EG, KOI, and 100T all lowered their budget with salaries last year. But they cant just drop the salary like a rock it has to be slowly which I think most teams are doing

I bring up the risk factor because, aside from being skilled players, it seems they aren't taking on substantial risks that would justify such high salaries.

Its because a good esports career lasts 4 years tops. 10k sounds like a lot, but after your career, what do you do? You don't have a diploma, unless you were an IGL you're probably not gonna be able to coach a team. IF you manage to join a T1 team, you need to hope you play well AND attract a substantial fanbase so you can start content creation or something else in that trend or you're gonna end up broke on the streets.

franchising minimum is 50k a year, so 4,200 a month. I'm guessing "higher tier" players like TenZ are getting paid closer to 15k a month, and lower tier are on minimum and then there's just a range in-between. shahzam said something similar a while ago.

no way Tenz is getting paid 15k a month

I will use Styko from Apeks from cs as an example.
Styko isn't that much influent and good, and he revealed he is getting paid 12k a month, and Apeks is literally a low tier 1/high tier 2 team (even though they are an org from norway and norway is a pretty rich country, but still).

Tenz is getting 40k MINIMUM, because he is literally a celebrity in this scene

CS players get paid more than Val players
just that CS has more job opportunities (or used to at the start)
I would trust shahzam
also apeks is known to pay good salaries for their org status on top of styko being a very old and veteran player

It's minimum 5k a month I think in t1, T2 salaries could be lesser , Americas pays the most usually with orgs like sen spending heavy, I think tenz got like 40k a month atleast, aspas also gets paid heavy , considering his this year deal with bleed was gonna be the highest ever vct salary, yay got like 50k a month for this year to play in bleed , EMEA pays like 10-20k a month based on teams finance I think, boo had said after their achievements of this year the team heretics players were getting something between 10-15 k a month , America's goes more than EMEA and has higher salaries . Pacific has decent and not too high salaries
