With just over two weeks before the beginning of Pacific Kickoff, Gen.G Gen.G Korea Rank #3 Ash Ha Hyun-cheol (하현철) Karon Kim Won-tae (김원태) t3xture Kim Na-ra (김나라) have announced the acquisition of Kang "solo" Geun-chul (강근철) for the head coach position. He will replace Kim "HSK" Hae-seong (김해성), who becomes the team's new Head of Strategy.

HSK was first picked up in October as head coach, following his time on DetonatioN FocusMe DetonatioN FocusMe Japan Rank #5 Meiy Ibuki Seki SSeeS Tomonori Okimura Akame Yu Gwang-hui (유광희) gyen Koki Nakamura . He joined Detonation in 2021 as a player, switching to a coaching role the next two years. He remained on the team for 2023, which they finished with a 0-11 record between LOCK//IN, the Pacific League, and the Pacific LCQ.

Previously a coach for Dplus Esports Dplus Esports Korea Rank #20 , solo is best known for his time on NUTURN NUTURN Inactive as a player, reaching Masters Reykjavík in 2021. By the end of the year he moved to coaching, joining Dplus (then Damwon Gaming). Throughout the years he helped the team stay at the top of Challengers Korea, reaching the 2022 East Asia LCQ and Pacific Ascension in 2023.

With HSK, Gen.G participated in one OFF//SEASON event, Convergence 2023.
