I mean that would most probably be in favour of liquid and moreover, they even earned 50 points from challengers playoff, where fnatic failed to qualify.

It would have been a tie on 350 points if they had lost to Nuturn

Bro if Riot had above 80 IQ they would give G2 more points for 3rd-4th at Berlin than just 325.

It's funny how Fnatic BARELY find success in every esport this year - reverse swept 3-2 TNC Predator to qualify for TI, won 3 mega close 3-2 games in LEC lower bracket to qualify for Worlds, now this shit with Champions. I will laugh if they somehow go to PGL Major as well.

Reykjavik was a shit tier tournament, I was watching games and asking myself "what are these teams doing? Are they dumb?"

Current G2 or Envy would thrash those Sentinels and Fnatic, let alone Gambit and Vision Strikers. More relevant events should give much more points.

you gotta give credit where its due for fnatic
and comparisons between 2 events with varied Metas isnt fair at all
maybe next meta fnatic might be a beast and show why they deserve the champions spot

I do agree that G2 should've gotten more points than Fnatic for doing better later in the year but if they are truly the best representative for EMEA they'll make it through the LCQ bracket

There were just 5 teams from major regions (NA, EMEA, KR) at Reykjavik
There were 9 teams from major regions (NA, EMEA, KR) at Berlin

It was way easier for Fnatic to get 2nd place back then, because there wasn't as much competition coming from strong regions

They should give way more priority to the latest Masters over the others, the latest performance is the one defining what’s the shape of the team before champions. Futbolist that hasn’t qualified for anything since masters 1 is in LCQ over Giants or Navi for example

Bro a event from a month ago should matter way more than a event that took place 5 month ago. Because that shows the team's form before Champions. In champions I want teams that are in their best form, not teams that are qualified for the form they had a long time ago. Now because of that one of G2/TL wont make it and both are better than Fnatic right now when it matters, because champions is in a few months, not 5 month ago

what everyone is saying makes not sense, fnatic are still a very solid team who just came up short against a strong team liquid who were within one round of knocking out the worlds best gambit

Team Liquid wasn't that strong. They didn't make it through week 2 and even in week 1 they looked pretty weak only clutching out in 2 last games against Fnatic and Giants. Also the whole Gambit game was choke from Gambit. They couldn't close out Icebox even though Jamppi was invisible that game. You still need to remember that they were the biggest chokers in the world before Berlin. Also their gameplay looked better in Berlin and isnt comparable to their EMEA gameplay.

I think its kind of insane that Fnatic will be there instead of both G2 and TL (or even SMB). Like they had amazing run in Reykjavik, but everything after that has been meh. Especially when you think about that NA will send teams like SEN, Envy and then like 100T/XSET etc. while Fnatic takes one of EMEA's spots. Fnatic could come back really strong, but the whole point system is really faulty in my opinion.
