agree with me or not. it's taylor swift.
yeah fair
like I don’t deny that some groups have like solid songs but they are nowhere near good enough (and consistently good enough) to have the size of fan base that they have
props to them for getting the bag tho I can respect the work and the artist just not the amount of people that say their music is god tier
because it literally is horrid like it's not just a gut feeling lol, look at all the stuff about kpop's "dark side" (when its literally what kpop is) like its legalized slavery over teens to become the next popstar for a shitty society thats all fueled by deranged toxic fans that will immediately send mass death threats if any of the slaves calls out the shamelessly corrupted industry. Suicides from kpop stars are common lol, its all super dystopian and its too big to fail now for the next decade or more. That super happy music you dont like hearing is the result of all this.
they're both shitty but I can wholeheartedly promise you Kpop is doing it worse on a lot of levels with a way more strict and controlling industry that's primarily because of Korea's absurd work laws (also a big factor why the country's suicide rate is through the roof). Also don't try and downplay any of it by saying "oh but America is bad too" that's just so weird lol, if you're fully aware of what they cook up in the kpop world and you still wanna lowball it then you have issues.
yeah there's stuff like idols not being allowed to date others which I don't agree with at all. but I don't agree when people say "you shouldn't listen to kpop because the industry is so toxic" when the entertainment industry everywhere else is extremely toxic as well. if you do some research, you'd realize that disney and hollywood can be just as exploitative if not worse.
mainstream nowadays would be Taylor, Doja, Lana, a lot of rappers like Yb, Gunna that make mediocre music
older ones mayb queen, nirvana, beatles, not elvis bc he was actually important for all the rock n roll revolution in music but the rest are meh
kpop id say half the groups don't really deserve the popularity but wtv its the industry not them

Her earlier music is very derivative and can easily be seen as very generic, not much done in the creative process. I like the last 3 albums much better.
As for artist of the year, not saying that she didn't deserve it but there are many artists who didn't win cuz they aren't as famous as Taylor, we all know how those politics work.
Her fan base is also very toxic, they even disregarded Lana Del Ray's award for artist of the decade or smth like that similar to Taylor cuz they THOT Taylor should win.
I'd happily prefer The Weeknd over Taylor, even though they are very similar in terms of popularity
Moreover, on the technical part, the musical side seems not very thot out to me compared to other artists
She is very poetic with her lyrics and can romanticise even the smallest of things, most of her fanbase likes her for this singular talent she has. But musically, I only liked some of her works.
This was just my POV, she's obviously a respectable artist considering the sheer no. of fans she has
Dude his fucking solo in the champions song this year is literally the most forgettable part of any song in history. It's so bad. I don't know if he wrote those lyrics himself but it sounds like Riot gave him a list of Valorant related keywords and told him to include one or two of those and he was just like "bet" and included them all. Like "Solo with the ace and my team went gold" what does that even mean?
Only logic the rest are good musicians even if you don’t appreciate , even doja is actually talented lol.
Kid Laroi has good features and talent just chooses to be mainstream, listen to his verse on the tjay album. Uzi is a trap legend but pink tape is mid. Drake has several classic albums hard to overrate, last few albums r mid. Jack Harlow last album was actually lyrically easily a 7-8/10 just isn’t mainstream so no streams. Ed Sheeran is pretty much a musical legend between the versatility, an overrated artist in reality is year.
I’m right but allat
