Lmao i can’t with this guy. The video is literally a gold mine of constructive criticism, and he refuses to watch and learn from his mistakes.

This is why TenZ did nothing in CSGO, and now he will fade into obscurity in Valorant. Blud is perfectly okay with being all aim and no brain.

There is zero chance in hell SEN coaches are vod reviewing TenZ if his mental is so fragile.

it wasnt sideshow dogging on him for 2 hours, it was 30 minutes of analysing tenz's strengths and positives (kayo, flashing, bind, and some other things) and then an hour of constructive criticism about sideshow analysing tenz's weakpoints in pro play, and then helping him try and fix these problems, offering counter measures, all for free.

you do know that sideshow, as well is being a commentator (which requires intensive knowledge on the game) is also a valorant analyst, and is always talking with other analysts like sgares, tmv, sliggy, and other coaches, like mCe. furthermore, he watches a large amount of the games and especially Na games, so sentinels. So yeah, i would say his opinion could actually be quite useful, and clearly the coach is doing so much (tenz and sentinel's performances over the past 2 years)

I’ve disliked TenZ for exactly this reason. He’s never tried to improve as a player in CSGO or Valorant, yet he’s treated like he’s s1mple, the GOAT who can dish criticism as well as take it.

[good normal people] - [doesnt improve, stays stubborn in 2021 compared to the rest, commitment issues, refuses to adapt, (personally I think he needs a therapist, or more confidence, I suspect the expectations are too much for him, and feed bad, but he needs to improve not for us, but for himself. (maybe Its a bit parasocial, call me out on it if you want) but, yep good normal people, if he really wanted it he would, its a bit harsh but he's tenz, no he's not a miracle worker, sure he has streaming, his gf, stuff going on in his life, but that's everyone]

this all stems from one thing. - confidence and no gym. if he is not confident in himself he needs to change that. why let critics get the best of your mental if you know you are doing your best?

the potential is there, no one is denying that, but it just looks like he is doing the bare minimum, that's why people dont like him imo. you think Steph curry is the way he is just because he's talented? no. its talent AND hard work.

no one is saying TenZ shoudnt be criticised. But this does happen when you watch a video like that and you can sometimes lose your confidence and feel like you dont wanna play
It happened with shahzam in csgo after the video "How Shahzam lost this map for c9vsTSM i rememeber
plus they have coaches kaplan and drew plus even zellsis to help and he never said he dosent want to adapt or anything its just a matter of time as kaplan said in the podcast zellsis is also there to help

I’ve always thought that TenZ was overrated, and the fact that he’s constantly shoved in my face is what irks me.

There are much more deserving pros that belong in Franchising. I could care less that he’s a nice guy.

what's funny to me is how people in this thread expect such high standards from coaches and players. they think everyone is working hard and trying their best on the inside and being the best they possibly can, when in most cases, they are just cruising. its not like a team like EG where everyone is on point and doing what is expected. I would assume the situation is exactly or similar to how you presented it. it's a disaster. people need to wake up and fathom that they cannot see what's going on behind the scenes, and it may not look as pretty as they want it to be.

also titles like "coach" "analyst "pro-player" are just that. TITLES. it doesn't automatically change them to be INSANE from the rest. they are all struggling, and one team is struggling less than the others. if you picked out a random top 50 radiant I would wager that they would be the exact same as the pro player except for a few things like drills or routines.

sideshows vod is constructive criticism and is good but it is about how he is bad at entrying or as a duelist for the most part, tenz just said that he has now switched over to a different role now (implying he has watched a bit of the vod or that kaplan or another person has summarized it for him) which means he doesnt have to get better at entrying because his role is now support (which sideshow was giving him a lot of credit for being good at), also tenz isnt the type of person to outright refuse to do things he was most probably told by his teammates or staff to not watch it because it could affect his confidence and just leave the guy alone, if kaplan didnt think tenz was good teammate/player, then he wouldve gotten nismo or somebody else to replace him or just kept him as a sub and have zellsis in the playing 5. You could make hour long videos of sacy, pancada and even marved pointing out mistakes but at the end of the day they have their own staff to figure everything out and help them

People underestimate the mental aspect of competing. In nearly all “real” sports the players are told not to listen to the media or read about what people say about you.

This doesn’t make tenz weak, it makes him cognizant of the negative effects a video like this can have on a player.

I can almost guarantee it was his team / coaches that told him not to watch the video.

tbf this did damage his CS career heavily but he is much older and more experienced now, I wouldve imagined that he would be able to take constructive criticism from someone other than his coaches/teammates by now

He said he watched synopsis of it and unlike you he doesn't have a pea brain. He got the gist of the video in those few minutes cz he said he never preferred jett entrying anyway and that was like the only criticism that sideshow made. He only had good things to say about his kayO and yoru, he criticized tenz not having some kayO molly lineups but that's what his coach is there for, instruct him to throw molly they want in set execs. He has a pretty good policy of not concerning himself with what people say about him online, you wouldn't understand if you are not on his shoes. Worry about your idol sinatraa not reading the 'U.S. code of conduct '. Had he done that his career wouldn't have been over at 21.
