Just watched the blg vs nrg match. Sad to see these 2 giving their all and the team just couldn't even take a map. Botdis missing so many shots prolly should've saved the banter till they won no?
He really isn't tho, this game was just nrg losing every gunfight and being a team that doesnt focus on execs and retakes they couldn't do anything against blg. It was a stylistic difference and the only way they wouldve won would be to hit every shot or to create a few execs and retakes before the match
their teamfighting is absolutely awful, no util after calling the exec, no information prior to the hit, and they play 5 site post plants that just get punished by BLG's superior team fighting. they just looked like they didn't have a plan for the exec, like the 5 man ascent b hold on site in pistol is just so bad, and it's a mistake they were doing in tokyo as well at times. BLG also just had a game plan every time, it wasn't like the first time they went up against each other where biank and whzy were just absolutely dogging on them
I don't think all the blame can go on one player. Yes, Ardiis did underperform this series and has been pretty inconsistent this year overall but Crashies has been underperforming a lot this year too. It has mostly been Victor and s0m who have been doing good. FNS has had some pretty good calls and ideas but it's clear that this roster just gets outclassed by so many others in terms of firepower.
Honestly they should just run it back, two series of bad form from a team of champions shouldn't be necessary to overreact.
Crashies and s0m were looking like top 5 players in their position throughout masters and the regular season
FNS still is a world class caller, IDC what anyone else says
Victor was a good entry today, still a great flex
Ardiis was heating up in the last two matches and had an off-day today
If anyone, get rid of ardiis he's far too inconsistent to be the star duelist NRG needs
People keep memeing it but +yay really isn't that bad of an idea if he's willing to take a paycut
Or +Nismo, but there are some role clashes with Victor
i do think that they’ve underperformed their own expectations they set for themselves
the standard they set as optic, the best pre-franchising team, was to be a good enough team that they can WIN events and they haven’t looked like that aside from maybe lock in, they had a rough first start to the split, first start to the playoffs, and champs was very rough. they didn’t seem like they could win tokyo at all honestly.
i wouldn’t mind them maybe moving victor to perms jett/raze if his op can be on par with the best jett’s in NA and they sign one of the multiple great flex players like nismo, flyuh, maybe even asuna if 100t drop the bag for M80 players
I love victor, but if a team is treating him as their star jett/raze player I don't think his mechanics or consistency is good enough for that
the NRG trio of FNS, crashies and vic was always good, but I think everyone really underestimated the fact they lost their two best players in the offseason- you can't expect to bounce back from that with long-term consistent form
ardiis was undoubtedly a downgrade for prime yay and losing marved was a blow too (though s0m is absolutely fantastic and has really impressed everyone, but just has been more of a pack player which has made NRG sorta lose a bit of the nuance of their attacking half with the nice flanks to accentuate the full site executes)
picking up a good flex player on the market would be good, but I really do wanna see them swing for the fences with a cracked young star instead of making veteran moves that will make them a playoff team that never really is in true contention to win the whole thing
not sure how many more Demon1s there are in NA ranked atm but I'm sure there's someone out there if they're willing to take some risks (Foxy9 to NRG would be epic too, his English isn't even that bad from what I can tell)
