One thing that must be taken into account when discussing Ascensions is.
Neither
M80
TheGuard
MXM
TheUnion
00Nation

Played internationally with their current roster.
You need to remember that NA scrims NA teams and SA scrims SA teams, and both have differing playstyles
Sure, The Union and M80 can be dominating their own regions, but that does not translate to international success.
Take for Example Furia, in the BR region they are not seen as a top tier team, a team of talented players? yes. but a top team? no. yet every single game in franchising NA teams struggled against them, even with clear flaws, why? they werent used to Furia, 100T is another "mid team" that suffered at the hands of their region's best but gave a hard time to foreign teams.
The true factor to take into account when predding who wins is Mental and Adaptabiity, to be thrown off by a playstyle is easy even if you prepare for it, example: PLAYOFFS NRG VS EG.
EG lost, then won, then prepped to take on NRG and lost, they werent adaptable enough to finish it out.

With all that said KRU clears every team in Ascensions

Im watching MXM vs TheGuard, These mfs ARE NOT GOOD lmao, they should be jailed for the amount of braindead plays being made, holy shit their game is infuriating.

Then they lost in First Lower Round Bracket to PRX

The Guard was not in groups. Technically they got 7th/8th place at Reykjavík '22 (mainly because BYE on groups)

I know but just because m80 is in challengers doesn’t mean that they are worse than franchised teams.

And many pros as well have spoken about how they believe top challengers teams such as m80 and TGRD can beat Franchised teams and that is clear when you watch them.

Imo, if m80/TGRD were in franchising, they would be in the running for Tokyo

Except M80 and Guard can actually scrim SA teams like LOUD FURIA and MIBR due to them being in LA for Americas League. So that’s a clear advantage over SA ascension teams who are locked in their region

Okay that’s good for the Union too? They are the best ascension BR team so that makes sense. But let’s be real, the span of time that LOUD (possibly best team in world) and the others were in NA is much more impactful than the Lock-IN period.

im not saying my opinion is worth more, my opinion is grounded in analysis from both me and other casters, what i am trying to say is that just because a regional figure defends their regional team, doesnt mean their team is all of the hype.
If you look from the outside, take into account more factors, the perspective changes. Casters, Analyst and youtubers all have differeing preds and analysis but none of them hold the objective truth, which is exactly why i DIDNT pred who would win, because it is only probability.

what analysis is your opinion grounded in? Sliggy watches all the regions, he's played against all teams worldwide, and coached through tons of metas in two different games. and most people agree with him, from all three leagues. you can say what you want, but the fact that you called the game you watched jail valorant shows how little you know - i could show you how methodical and crushing each Guard retake was, their retakes are literally on the level of the best of franchising. you're trying to play both sides here; you can act all reasonable and act agnostic when you say that you're not predding who would win or that you don't hold the objective truth but you literally said that these mfs ARE NOT GOOD - in what way is that not making a judgement or pred? you don't get to pretend to be this unbiased outsider when you're making all sorts of normatively loaded statements lol.
