Cheating/Hacking in esports

why do people take cheating in esports as if someone has comitted an actual crime , these scandals are framed as if the person has murdered someone
i dont know if its just me but its just cheating bro like who cares + its so much fun,
even the punishments are so brutal and the cheater is treated like a serial killer like they have destroyed the world or something ,for what,
just fine the guy and move on

now ...... this is just my opinion and what do you guys think about cheating in esports and its punishments

It's perfect as it is. Cheating in a fucking competition is bullshit what's the point of competing with the best then??? The Punishments are like banned from the game, etc, it's not like he goes to jail or something. How is that even a crime in you eyes?

Kinda depends on the circumstances but for instance, if it's a big tournament with money on the line, it is everyone's job in that tournament to play and win. If you are in the tournament and cheating I would consider it fraud because you are essentially stealing money while also at the detriment of other players who are playing legit.

in worst case scenario if someone cheat they get banned for life in that esports and the community of that esports shits on them.....they can still get a normal job go to school etc and most probably no one would know them there so its not that big of a deal when you think in this context....

it's harsh, but it's fair. The majority of the punishment that comes from cheating in esports is your public image ruined, as it should be
