How long until cs 2 dies?

The rumors of “cs 2” have made a lot of csgo fanboys think that Riot will literally shut down Valorant’s servers when it releases. But none of them realize that it’s just an engine update. But just like Overwatch 2 the hype will fade once people realize they’re getting nothing new. I give it a month before all the hype dies down, what do you think?

How blatant can Valve be? Seriously? So instead of the spike they have something called a "bomb"? Instead of abilities they have "nades mollies and smokes". Instead of agents it's terrorists and counter-terrorists? What is this the 1970s? It's almost as if they copied but halfway through they got lazy and just released the game. Valve should be ashamed of themselves. I guess imitation is the best form of flattery, Riot is so kind to not come after Valve legally. Blatant rip off of Valorant this game is

csgo never died in EU and other regions, why would cs2 die? NA CSGO is dead so CS2 wont make a difference unless they bring in monumental changes.

CSGO isn't dead and "CS 2" will also never die if it releases.
Valorant and CS can both co-exist. In fact, I think they both will benefit if the other one is rising in popularity because it will pressure devs into actually making new interesting things.

You should say the hype for CS2 dies, not cs2 dies. Csgo is more popular than Valorant rn, and CS2 will be too unless Val has an instant boost in popularity for some reason. Although judging by its pace rn Val should overtake CS in the next 2 years unless its get too stale

Its still big potentially. I don't think anyone wants Valve to change CSGO gameplay. Source 2 update could bring better tick rate, matchmaking and anti cheat that would make matchmating good and you wouldn't have to use Face It. Especially good for casuals. And on top of that could do visual changes and make the game look more fresh. As well as give more posibilities for future stuff and even custom maps etc if I'm not wrong.

It's going to be just like OW2

First month a lot of big streamers playing it, drops, twitch rivals etc...

Then people will realize it's the same game with few uptades, just like OW2

Will get bored because CS is so boring to watch and to play and then it will be at the same state of CSGO

It'll stay the same, some old fellas might say "the old engine was better for nostalgia" and stop playing the game while the pro scene will stay the same more or less

CS wont die, just like Val wont die. The scene is big enough for both to co-exist, only children think people can't enjoy both.
