Yes but they (and literally every other part of ow community) are being dicks about it
its not that deep lol, a lot of fps franchise communities think valorant is easy and i dont even mean that as an insult

ow is actually far more popular there when it comes to fps . This is just the cafe rankings . Most people just play on pc now

Obviously Val is growing there but ow1 also didn't recieve updates for 2 years and the league was just dead . Still it somehow hovered at the top a lot

There's a reason why 3/4th of OWL are filled with Koreans. The game was super popular. Before OWL, the biggest tournament was held WHERE CHALLENGERS KR IS RIGHT NOW. They have history.
as a teen I wasn't allowed to play ow back in the days, honestly didn't play ow even a single round ever since then🙃
Honestly with the fact that even the guns are unique to each hero in ow, it takes more time to learn different roles. Also the movement is more advanced in ow that valorant, since half the heroes have strong movement based abilities. Add that to the fact that there are 30 or so heroes in ow right now, then it wouldn't be wrong to say that at the moment, overwatch is more difficult than valorant.
im not denying that aiming on some characters is harder to aim on than valorant (specifically some. Mei Winston and Moira players will never be skilled, their crosshair doesnt even have to be on the enemy to hit them.)
I do think just IMO real valorant pro games are extremely strategically difficult, moreso than OW's strategic factors (and eventually hopefully it becomes a more complex strategic field than cs)
Actually, what makes you like OW? Its too arcade-y and fast paced for me and just jump and shoot which is fun when you play it with friends but I can't get serious about a game like that. (question directed to KR who like OW)
i guess it could be that we don't really have any real traditional fps background since csgo had some issues with the internet cafe due to valve and their asking price or something. So fast forward a few years and OW comes out. ppl try it out, really interesting since we are not used to traditional fps, gets better in OW, pros dominate the entire scene, and became one of the favs among koreans until valorant came out and OW died
but thats just what I think. I didn't live in Korea that long + I didn't play OW so idk
