what ur think about this?
faster, no (because generally more muscular people tend to be slower than lean people + they wear a lot of protective gear)
stronger, yes (soccer players don't need to be as strong as football players, they need to be faster and more agile)
smarter, yes and no (each sport requires a different type of "smartness", football players are football smart, soccer players are soccer smart)
both can coexist guys, chill
each sport requires different things
There's no possible way you could conclude American Football players are more athletic than Rugby players unless you had absolutely no knowledge of Rugby.
Rugby players are elite athletes who are some of the strongest, fastest, and toughest sportsmen in the world. The game is harder, more skillful, and tactically deeper than American Football in every way.
America wins every war thanks to our superior strategy and athleticism, of course our sport is superior tactically and physically as well. Rugby coaches don't even have to do anything they just watch their players run around, head coaches in the NFL are essentially playing a more complex version of chess but with actual human beings.
As someone who played rugby from the age of 6 I can without a doubt in my mind say I would never do American football. It's like they decided to recreate ancient gladiator traditions. It's like they're begging for concussions.
At least in rugby there are strict tackle rules to ensure players don't hit each other on the head and call it a tackle. That's also why we don't have to wear such heavy gear as in American football.
But American football is quite technical. Rugby is a much easier sport to play. There aren't so many rules and flags governing every move. The thing that really separates rugby and American football is the fact that in rugby you need to be able to do offense and defense. One team for all plays.
