must watch anime for beginners?

I am trying to be more weeb so want to start watching anime, I never watched anime before and the only cartoons I watch is things like family guy, south park and the likes.

What is a good anime (or few suggestions) to start with that most people would already watch so I can something to talk about with weebs?

(also preferably not ones with 20 seasons so I can actually finish it and watch a few)

Literally any of the big 3 though they are long. Death note pretty common, HxH, AOT, Demon Slayer, JJK, idk man there are so many options. In terms of finding something to talk to someone about, you could pick up just about any big name show and find someone else who has seen it.

tbh if you want to break a little bit of the "anime is for kids" stigma AOT would be a good introduction

I know everyone's gonna point out old big anime, but I think Spy X Family is going to be the big anime this season, it will allow you to talk to most weebs, because they are probably going to watch it. I already read the manga, but I'm def watching the anime, because the OP is made by Official Hige Dandism, and the ED is made by Gen Hoshino.

I always recommend death note to beginners because its a classic. Fmab is good too but is a little on the longer side. But if you're really low on time try anime movies such as perfect blue, ghibli films, i want to eat your pancreas etc

Jujutsu Kaisen is one I highly recommend to beginners it's a type of show that you just can't dislike

yes jujutsu kaisen is probably the best for beginners if you want to get into cool fighting animation

What genre specifically?

If you want action and fighting, then watch Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Black Clover (this one is long, 170 episodes), Hunter x Hunter (also long, 148 episodes), Code Geass, Death Note

If you want comedy, then watch Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, The Disastrous Life of Saiki. K, Spy x Family (a new and ongoing series but it's really good so far, possibly the hottest anime this season)

If you want romance, then watch Erased, Horimiya, Kimi no Wa (a movie, but very good), I want to eat your pancreas (also a movie but very good and heartfelt)

i dont really watch "long" anime series. the only time commitment here is Evangelion and Assassination Classroom. The rest are movies so they'll probably be good pickups for anyone wanting to get into anime.

First anime is pretty important since usually its the most impactful and favorite to them unless its really bad. I would go for Aot as first anime since there are many shounens to watch if u like it, but if u go something like deathnote or monster its hard to find similar animes like it after.

Haikyuu is ongoing and so far the anime steps it up with every season (i mean if ssn 4 had more consistent animation and didnt have a gap in between it would have been more hype), the next season hasnt been announced yet but im telling you if you want a heavy hitting sports anime masterpiece, haikyuu season 5 will deliver exactly that

if you wanna just see something, any of these already has commented, if you wanna a true CHAD god anime, One Piece is my recommendation.
