Either of them could've won. Gambit were not in their best form throughout the tournament but they made it to finals. Considering the KRÜ game must have been exhausting, maybe with an easier semifinals match they could've been a tougher opponent for Acend.

I'm not defending Gambit, just being fair considering mental fatigue and that long series against KRÜ must've affected them, while Acend just shitted on everyone on their side of the bracket.

I know it's not Acend's fault, and we can't know if KRÜ improved enough to beat Liquid, it seems like they did to me but there's no way to know it rn.

Just saying it's unlucky for Gambit, it's not just "play better" every time a team doesn't perform how it's expected from them. There's a lot happening behind the game.

That and the fact that their matches were (subjectively) better to watch than Acend's. Every Gambit win seemed like they were showing they were getting stronger and stronger, even if at the Grand Finals it wasn't the case.

also Acend is only team that winning OT vs Gambit. They did it in reddbull they did it on 4th map aswell. They just have good reads and understanding how to counter Gambit and other EU teams, but cant do it with same level of confidence with teams from other regions ig

Because Gambit for that 2 LANs beat teams from every region(EU, NA, BR, LATAM,KR,JP, SEA) and won EMEA and CIS before that. They are really deserve World Champs status. imo ACE most uncomfortable team for them, some sort of kryptonite. Even though if we will count all rounds in GrandFinal it was 53 for Gambit and 54 for Acend. 1 round diff, very close game.
