"EG has allowed me to explore options for 2026 during our rebuild process (still under contract)," he said. "Comfortable on initiator/flex but open to trialing for other roles DM's open."

Derrek has been a well-traveled veteran in the North American Valorant scene. He played for Rise for around a year, helping build a reputation as a top-ten team in North America, before joining 100 Thieves 100 Thieves North America Rank #9 in 2022, the last year of Valorant's pre-partnership era. It was in 2022 that Derrek and 100T qualified for Champions Istanbul through the North America LCQ. As the calendar turned and a new era of VCT began, 100 Thieves stuck with Derrek through 2023, but chose not to renew his contract for 2024.

In 2024, as part of the organization's rebuild following a Champions 2023-winning campaign, EG picked up Derrek. With a nearly all-new roster, EG finished the year ninth in Americas, failing to reach the international stage after a successful 2023. EG had more success in 2025, finishing fourth at the end of Stage 1, just one spot below qualification for its first international since Los Angeles. The team finished went 2-3 in Stage 2, and was swiftly eliminated from the playoffs at 7th-8th.
