I don't hear anywhere near as much crying about national representation for these orgs and their fans.

Mfw indians hate GE owner for simply recruiting the best talent he could find because he knows that indian players just aren't good enough for tier 1.
Every org has winning as the priority.
Representing the nation comes after you can assemble a roster capable of producing good results.

These teams are decent though, GE has always been trash with and without indian players

Maybe that's an issue with their talent scouting and management. And you won't be winning more with subpar indian players.

I mean the hate comes because they are pretty bad even after taking the imports I mean so many fans just think it's better to go with Indian players for the Indian rep

Horrible management and talent scouting. Bad coaching for years. Plenty of reasons why. JP has plenty of talent, but they aren't bad because they lack it for the same reasons. GE has the players to win, its all about incrementally building a better system and the management clearly can't figure out how to do that.

I do agree with your point every org wants to win and earn earnings no matter the nationality of their players.

You almost took only EMEA team, we literally share the same scrimpool, soloQ, and soon the same nuclear button, EU player will already plays against T1 player all the time in soloQ, if a player is good enough, he will be hire by a T1 team. While SA have a glass ceiling for having not the same scrimpool as other APAC region. The only way for an India player to improves is by playing in a decent soloQ and the only way to play into decent soloQ is to go in Korea because you get hire in T1.

I say every time that Lev should lose their partnership for that literally : drop that org

Drop the org who has the most successful academy team and have had mostly LATAM players throughout their whole lifespan. also highest placement in an international from a Latam team

mind you 4 out of 5 players from KRU are LEV rejects

Bro they where partner for 2 year and drop Latam after 1. If next year their team become full Latam Riot shouldn't drop them, but if they kiep same roster... GOD. Even during prepartner KRU > LEV

they dropped latam for a superteam that made 2 international events, got a regional trophy and made top 3 at champs.

and they will be going back to mostly latam but lets be real here. teams like lev are more likely to find success with an international roster than a 1 national team.

I'm not requesting for a national team, but for a T2 regional representant that cover like 50 territories

Had Forsaken not fucked it up for Indian CS we might've seen some actual talent make itself into Valorant from Counter Strike

I think it can be boiled down to how the majority of Asia (that includes regions like SEA) that heavily value national representation due to how a lack of representation of them on the international stage, especially in a global PC esports scene like Valorant (and insert other national sports teams here).

When we heavily pride ourselves of being from that region in particular, naturally we would want to see homegrown talents from said region to be seen on a global stage. Representation comes first, performance second.

That's the true Achilles Heel of our regional mindset as a whole. When people want their country to be seen, is it worth the potential drop or rise in performance? SA is already troubled with pings and an isolation in scrims since the inception of the Conquerers Championship all the way in 2021. I've seen the amount of good talents there, it's just the matter of getting the talent out of the bubble.

we in the SA are so hyper nationalistic (enough to make current italy look like a casual newbie in the game) lmao

Probably the most convincing counterargument yet, but I still stand by my points.
If you are in esports you are there to win. I am all for representation, but you can't have representation without qualifications. There is a bare minimum standard you must meet. GE supposedly ran one of the largest player trialing programs to date before this season. I'm sure their staff looked into south asia. Surely they would like to sign a south asian player, but clearly none were up to their standards. GE is already a struggling team. If they can build a system that works maybe then they can look to incorporate rising indian talent that meets standards and level up the scene. But getting that working system is the top priority, and if you can't do it with the top picks from your scouting there is no way you can do it with the players that didn't make the cut.

I mean its really only a time game. Your country has a population at China's level, and even if other factors mean that many can't play valorant for a living, it is more than enough to catch up imo.

I believe the franchise slot was given to them (GE) because they represent whole South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, with Afghanistan).

I think they should try with players from these countries only, maybe 6th and coaching staff from different region.

Let the players speak their own language as a team like English or hindi, most players talk in mix of Hindi and English, whatever it is, don’t force any language onto them, coach has to adapt and help them if they lack somewhere. (See texture in English vs Korean, much much comfortable, also players can understand the coach in English while in timeouts but in game, their comfortable language is way to go !)

Playstyle makes the team, let them do what they have been doing and it will improve (just like prx).

And give them time and opportunity, GE’s CEO doesn’t even believe in the SA players so they don’t even get the chance to play, due to this newer players doesn’t even get motivation to come to this scene, I think it’s not about competitive integrity, it’s about exposure of SA region.

Doesn’t matter if they get 13-0ed, get them exposure, it may / may not improve but still it gets engagement (good/bad) but players will benefit and org will benefit, atleast the org won’t be called hypocrite, their performance with the best team yet is shit anyways lol, clearly their approach isn’t working.

In short: change the approach, make effort towards representation rather than importing the players and forcing them to follow some unknown framework which isn’t comfortable for them, and give them time, I believe fans will be patient if their people representing the team at global stage!

Cheers !

Like I said on my own post; I agree about representation, but is it worth it when there is one more year until the first partnership cycle is finished and the evaluation begins?

50/50 chance either they stay or get reconsidered. Representation isn't enough when they're already far too deep into it. If they continue on post-2027 then by all means.

I'd like them to go bold either way.

Logically, More representation == More engagement == More Investment, that's probably what Riot wants anyway with the slot that they gave to GE.

maybe gives a chance for redemption for GE for their potentially failed cycle if they start next year or maybe give the slot another South Asian team in next cycle, who's more focused on South Asia.

or maybe if GE wins something next year, everybody will forget they want representation but currently with their framework (importing the players and forcing them to follow some unknown framework which isn’t comfortable for them), i don't think that's going to win anything in my opinion.

or hell, go all in on Cracked Korean team with korean coach, who cares, just win idc.

Anyway, i think Riot will listen to what most of the fans wants i guess.

as the mods above me already said it well, it's too late for GE to start making an Indian representation team.

Yes, it's one of their fault for not starting the franchise by building a team with the south Asian talent pool.
But it is what it is rn. They need to do anything to survive one more year, and their roster now is already enough for that (just give them some times to cook)
