Like when they call it mickey mouse or the streamers not supporting it ? What part? People call it mickey mouse because some unexpected teams qualified which aren't like the best from each region. And starting matches were BO1 , their fav teams didn't make it far and a lot of teams are playing with subs or new rosters due to reasons. Streamers not supporting it since they believe it to be a part of a sportwashing campaign to redeem the saudi government bad human rights track record as they don't allow LGBTQ rights and make the world feel good Abt them

ewc for saudi isnt about the money though because as you said, they have more than enough money. instead the ewc is a sportwashing campain to boost their own image, especially in the eyes of gamers who are typically younger people who dont know about saudis politics, and try sweep their atrocities under the rug. ontop of that, they boycotting aspect is more a call for riot than it is for saudi, asking them to stop giving into and endorsing the ewc,
Let's be real... It's a Mickey Mouse tournament for now, as people don't align with the values of Saudi Arabia. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The tournament is backed by the fucking govt itself. It's an infinite money glitch, and if you have teams in more games, you could make so much more money from this single event than you'll make in all other events. In a few years this event will become one of the biggest events, and teams will look forward to winning this event as much as their top event, like VCT champs, CS major, or the LoL World Championship. One gives you prestige, and the other gives you tonnes of money.

these 2 videos from sideshow explain a lot of the political quelms people have with the tournament. other than that its because it isnt an official riot event, same thing happens with red bull homeground where people call it a mickeymouse event even tho it is still a wide range of good teams competing at a high level
