I see some people here saying that Valorant Champions may peak higher than this major of CS.

The chance of this happening is zero, EVEN CS will not peak this high anytime soon.

It was the first major in 2 years, got the most popular team of CS (navi) in the finals with G2 and Niko x S1mple, the GOAT and one of the best CS players of all time, and both didn`t have won a major yet. Once in a time event...

To Valorant achieve this level it will take some years yet, and CS will only get these numbers again if its something like Navi x Some BR team in the finals..

Not really, Japan goes like 150K-200K, India goes around 60K, Phillipines around 30K or something it's more than half a million in Asia

Lol you realize the Chinese numbers for cs was 18 million right? I doubt that number is totally correct but I know Valorant in Asia gets no where the same amount. I know it’s big in Japan but don’t know about other regions.

I mean co streaming does carry Valorant viewership no matter how much you want to deny it. If shroud was getting 2x-3x the amount of viewers than the main channel than I don’t know what the word carrying means. Even in the latest LCQ events, Tenz co streamed some of the matches and had way more viewers than the actual main channel.

Bruh, Shroud had 60K viewers, while the Major english channel alone was 600K+. Remove shroud 60K + Tarik 15K +5K/6K streamers from 2.6 million. Major still had 2.4 million+ viewers without counting co-streams xD.

Shroud himself gets 2x to 3x the main stream's viewers in Valorant. He doesn't even get 1/10 of the main stream viewers in CS.

Note: I didn't start the costream argument. Iceland VCT main stream barely reached 200K, while shroud was at 500K. That is the meaning of "getting carried by watch parties". Here, Major had 2.6 million lmao. Shroud was the biggest watch party with 60K viewers, Tarik was 2nd with 20K. Remove all these and it doesn't make a damn difference. VCT got carried by watch parties, Major didn't.

Without independent watch-parties/casters, it was 2.57 million. With watch-parties and co-streams, it is 2.75 million (180K viewers from all watch-parties combined).

Watchparties in val get so many viewers because casters are total garbage. Nobody wants to listen them. I myself watched most of the tourneys in watchparties because casters are unbareable but did not think twice with major about which stream to watch. Even the casters I dont really like are damn good in cs. Btw gaules even if he is official streamer, the experience he gives is watchparty'ish, hes not a usual caster. If shroud would be a brasilian, he would probably be official brasilian valorant stream too

As a casual fan who doesnt play much, it is kinda hard to keep up with valo and new agents. and dont really have time to play.

While CSGO is basic, i can just hop in on any stream. Maybe thats why cs will still retain viewers for a long time.

Comparing an established esport to a brand new one is like asking who would win in a fight between a grown adult and a newborn.

I do believe that eventually the newborn grows old and fucking murders the elderly adult but until that point Valorant will always perform below CSGO until it has an established scene. As of right now the scene is still somewhat volatile and that's okay because it is only a year into its life.

a lot of people think the highest number of views comes from the US , i think not , the biggest communities are Russia and Brazil , we have China too but we never know their actual numbers , i also think it's important to say that CS is not the most popular game in Russia , I think it's dota2 and that's been changing now with NAvi, one final Brazil vs Navi would be insane also
