Is Elden Ring good?

I have been hyped to play this game with my friend for so long and avoided as much gameplay vids, saving for a laptop so I can run it, so was curious just how good is the game, is it worth the hype I have? gonna be my first souls game or rogue game or rpg infact.

Its one of the best Souls game But its very hard a 1 boss takes 6-7 tries minimum U cant finish its under 100 -150 hours or even m ore depending on your souls experience

unironically no but that's an unpopular as hell take.

Being open-world to this degree kind of ruins a souls game and it has some bosses with unfair gank moves towards the end for no real reason. Regularly you'll go back to an area you were supposed to go earlier and find the big boss is something you've fought twice in the open world already.

It's good, just make sure you play the game as an open world game. If you don't explore the world properly, you will be smashing your head against some bosses.

Ofc its a great game. It won the GOTY award for a reason.

BUT it can be very hit or miss depending on how you will like the gameplay and especially combat. I honestly suck at Souls-likes, find them frustrating and don't have the patience to get better so games like Elden Ring become pretty much impossible for people like me. You really need to adapt and take beating to play this type of games. Be ready to spend countless hours and tries to beat one boss. Its not going to get easier and there isn't any difficulty adjustments. I played Elden Ring for few hours and quit. I would want to play it because its a great game in many aspects, but the combat just isn't for me and that's big part of the game.

On top of that I have played other Souls-likes before and honestly I prefer more of linear style like Lies of P and Bloodborne over the open world of Elden Ring. Elden Ring's open world is in a way easier, because you can just grind levels/stats to overpower bosses etc. But I felt like I was just wandering around and didn't know where to go just to die to random enemy and lose all that proggression.

just dont give up man. the bosses are hard but not impossible. i think 20%-30% give up before the first main boss. and its a souls game. which means they dont really show you how to play and the lore is confusing as hell so just take your time.

it's definitely good, you can tell the devs put their heart and soul into this game. but it's not for everyone, like me personally i got bored like halfway through.

not as good as ds3 but very solid experience

The game can be super easy if you want it to be idk why so many people cry about it being so difficult that its unplayable. If you get stuck in a boss fight just explore the nearby area you'll probably find like 2-3 minor boss fight and level up.

I loved exploring the map even though a lot of the minor boss fights are repeat, but the fact that they are there in the first place is good enough for me because a lot of open world games have explorable areas that are just dead ends.
