what actually went wrong with GenG at champs because being by far the favorites and getting grouped is crazy
melvinkoekemans [#7]I think lakia also broke his wrist or smth which is y he isn't playing now
not to mention
t3xture's neon isn't very good
It was a combination of a lot of things, they didn't know neon , they didn't get enough time after masters shanghai( only a week) before matches started and then just 9-10 more days after stage 2, thus they didn't have much rest time especially considering since they played the whole of kickoff, madrid, stage 1, shanghai and stage 2, the lesser break and more play time also meant their playbook started to get empty and not enough time to form new plays and strats , sen was able to anti strat them due to this , plus it was an off day for the team meaning not a lot of good performance from the players like usual , and sen got a good map veto where they got to play GenG on icebox and lotus and though u can say it was good maps from GenG side but not the best, they had especially bad defense on lotus and icebox which was seen earlier a lot against a good team, also it was GenG trend seen that they always began slow whenever a tournament started and even during matches and caught pace later and sen seemed to take advantage by accumulating large no of rounds earlier
lez [#3]They had a tough group, didn't adapt to the Neon meta and severely underperformed in the rematch against Sentinels
TH only played Neon on Icebox and once on Haven so its not like you need to be playing Neon to win, Neon isn't even the strongest duelist on icebox
its probably more that they played ass and Lakia also underperformed big time

not having time after Shanghai and not having time before Champs is not a valid reason since it applies to every team, TH had the same amount of time and barely played Neon and got second

Heretics has about a week more break than GenG after Shanghai , check it out, the neon thing was one of the parts and not the biggest reason, i laid out all the reasons why it happened also lowkey when a team wins big they become relaxed somewhat however when a team gets second they become more fired up to get the win the next time, don't mean to take anything away from heretics or excuse geng

VCT Emea Stage 2 started 3 days after Pacific but how is that anything to do with champs lol, Gen.G won Pacific anyway

Bro geng played on first day of pacific however heretics played on the third day of eema itself this giving them one more week , also are u unfamiliar with the concept of burn out? Feeling exhausted after a lot of games , burn out effects as well as the extra days gives time to create more strats

a few days difference is not gonna make the difference between making champs grand finals and getting grouped...
howsyfps [#15]a few days difference is not gonna make the difference between making champs grand finals and getting grouped...
psychologically, mentally, and physically, it does
endurance is tested here, and it seems like GEN.G got the short end of the stick by letting fatigue take over
they won first round against SEN, lost to TH in a close fashion, got scared of being eliminated, shat the bed against the all mighty SENTINELS who achieved TOP 4 and silenced the doubters who said FPX is better than SEN and SEN will be grouped, damn I remembered all these kids were silenced when SEN eliminated GENG and FNC.

i think he meant that geng didnt adapt to the neon meta as in not fully knowing how to counter her and the timings
ninjaturtle [#17]They played like 36 games before Champs lol
Not saying that they weren't trying but they surely weren't at their absolute best cuz of burnout, they looked tired
Some people play 36 games in 4 days. "Burnout" in an online video game is a sign that ur just bad.

Ranked and pro play are different things lil bro
