how much backlog do I have to clear to read baby rudin?
Notbaka [#6]Start with Cummings analysis then progress towards Rubin or if u confident read the first chapter of Rubin directly and see how it goes
will 100% fly over my head lmao hell nah. Assume I have knowledge of elementary calc (up to like partial differentiation basically enough to pass comp sci calc requirements) and linear algebra. How do I get from that to rudin
Notbaka [#7]IMO most important prerequisite for Rudin is understanding of logic and how to derive knowledge from the axiomatic method. You should know how to prove a disjunction, implication , conjunction and biconditional how to use contrapositives direct and indirect proofs and induction.
Ill need a refresher cause I'm horrible at proofs kek vellerman it is then

lol it’s ok takes time focus , but anyway gl with velleman

I'm comp sci student so basically temu mathematician, if I get btfo'd by rudin I will cry and go back to web dev. Also I'll check out Cummings thx

Strengthen ur linear algebra even more before starting Velleman or Richard hammack after this go with Kenneth Ross after this read the first chapter of Rubin set theory and topology and just HARD Work GL

Hahah lol it’s ok
aburnie [#22]As a Chemical Engineering graduate, what the fuck is baby rudin?
analysis textbook known for being very terse
